Description
Today, we have tons of reboots. Some worthy (Ducktales 2017 and Voltron), some... garbage (Teen Titans Go and The Powderpuff Girls 2010s). And here is my thoughts about shows from the past, which can be (if it be done by right people with hands from right place) great, or at lest good. And half of this shows from this top be long to Hasbro/Allspark Pictures. Plus, there i couple shows, that need complete soft reboots. Okay, here we go!13. M.A.S.K. Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand - This shows from DIC Entertained in partnership with Kenner (company, which before Hasbro make Star Wars toys), was created for making rival-franchise for and Transformers and G.I Joe. This show about special agents, who fight against terroristic organisation, and both this sides have masks with special abilities and cool vehicles with 2-3 modes. Ironically, such a franchise is now in the company, against which franchise it was created. Now, when Hasbro try make their franchises more popular, reboot of M.A.S.K. can be cool show.
12. Earthworm Jim - One of the really good cartoons based on video game franchise. Funny, with funny satire, and crazy atmosphere. And now, than we still wait Earthworm Jim 4, at least new cartoon can make Jim's fans happy.
11. Diplodos - 80s américain-japanese-french cartoon, based on the Japanese toyline Pocket Zaurus from Bandai. Those toys was funny tools for table - scissors, staples, erasers etc. This was fun and fantastic adventure show. One of the interesting this is what happened on earth was reflected on the planet of the Diplodos. What makes each new series interesting. And reboot can make bring this conception on new level. Bandai can bring back Diplodos in partnership with Hasbro (and Hasbro take away rights for this franchise from Bandai, like it was with Power Rangers toys
10. Visionaries - once again about Hasbro's franchise, which died too soon. Reboot of this shows can be epic post-apocalyptic futuristic fantasy saga.
9. The Invisible Man (2000-2002) - interesting and fun reimagining of classic sci-fi story, much like first two Mummy movies with Brandon Fraser. Even today it's interesting, especially on the background to the upcoming remake. And some soft reboot can be also great.
8. Phantom 2040 - Most underrated and forgotten superhero cartoon of 90s. Great dark cyberpunk anti utopia with suspense story and development characters. Mix of «Blade Runner» and Zorro. And some reboot, with touching today's actuals themes and problems in the world, can make Phantom great again. Especially, than year 2040 not so distant future, when in 90s.
7. Action Man 2000s - Last Hasbro's shows, promise. First Action Man from 90s series was mediocre, version from early 2000s is more good show. And conception from second show should in reboot, and be upgraded and improved. It's gonna be like mix of Mission: Impossible and Fast and Furious.
6. Ocean Girl (a.k.a. Ocean Odyssey for UK) - Charming sci-fi fairy tale series from Australia, with adventures, importance of friendship and family, protection the nature. In year 2013th was news boy some "Ocean Girl: The New Generation", but after that - nothing. And still, I hope we see this show, as soft reboot. With Neri's and Jason's daughter as main heroine, and return of most original cast for their roles.
5. Gargoyles - the most darkest and epic Disney show. Without any doubts - we need worthy reboot!
4. Exo-Squad - One of the most favourite cartoon from early childhood (I saw in my 4-5 age). Worthy west answer to Gundam and Evangelion. In this show was not only cool mecha suits, but also serious story with deep allusions to WW2. I'll be happy see great reboot.
3. Darkwing Duck - one of the best Disney shows from 90s. And reboot can be satire to today super hero genre, comic book movies and many other thematic things.
2. Pocket Monster/Pokemon - I will be faithful to my thinking - Ash Ketchum should leave post of main protagonist. And anime should have complete soft reboot, with new protagonists for each new arc, like games and manga. Ash can be still there, but not in main focus. Well, maybe little big in saga with his and Serena's son as main protagonist. I so much hope for future Sword and Shield anime saga.
And.. 1. Masked Rider/Kamen Rider for USA - The first adaptation of Kamen Rider was a frank failure. The second was good, but commercially it was also a failure. And now, when Hasbro makes Power Rangers great again, they can try buy from Bandai and Toei rights for new adaptation of Kamen Rider. New adaptation should like Japanese prototype - more darker, adult and with ambiguous characters counterpart of Power Rangers, like Kamen Rider for Super Sentai. And I know two season, which be perfect for start - Ex-Aid and Build.
Honourable Mentions:
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers - like new Ducktales, reboot of this show can be worthy. With Chip as Tom Cruise and Dale as Simon Pegg.
Superman - for last 2 decades, we don't have some new Superman cartoon series. And I think is time for something new.
Skeleton Warriors
A.T.O.M. Alpha Teens on Machines
Swat Kats
Pirates of Dark Water
Mortal Kombat - In this time - more brutal, as Castelvania on Netflix.
Johnny Quest
The Mask - I would like in both ways, fun, and gory.
Grendizer
Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa
All shows belong to their respected owners.
