I love how it has a classic comic book style to it
This piece is very well drawn as well as beautifully shaded and colored
But the most masterful part of this piece is the title
The title collides with the image so perfectly that it makes the piece even more amazing in comparison
Now if they were to just give this piece a simple title like the pony's name, it would be less impactful
To me titles are just as important as the art itself
I'm also a big fan of how they shaded this piece using line shading
I myself love using that form of shading since it is pretty fun to do and makes the image have a better look to it than just color shading

When the image appears in the notification thumbnail it isn't even obviously Chrysalis. The title is minimalist. Understated. Non-obvious. The style is the scratchy Dark Souls picture style, full of inky slashes and abstraction that invite only violence to the imagination.
Then you see the full picture and everything clicks. The twisted presentation of Chrysalis's visual deformity. The emergence (from a portal? Egg? Cocoon? It could be any one of them or all of them) as a simple monster, complete from the very beginning. The addition of "there is no story" in the description. So little is said, and everything is shown. Full score for vision and impact, for doing so much with less.
Your Dark Souls-style isn't my favorite art technique, although you use it to incredible effect here; again, by applying it to a rhetorical theme. And monster-Chrysalis pics aren't uncommon, although you use the opportunity to put a particular narrative twist on it.
