Interpretation is opinion, a point of view. Just saying.

Humans are quite good at projecting concepts onto things, especially imagery, but that's on us, on the individual. Nothing about this artwork inherently points towards the 'inappropriate', only to those who choose to see so. What is fact is that love, bliss, etc are not emotions trademarked by sex, they can be experienced quite regularly in other ways.

It's also self-contradicting. You say that everything is a matter of interpretation, implying that every point of view is just as valid. Which isn't even true, but whatever. But you're doing it while trying to discredit someone else's point of view. Are you trying to share your intents behind the commission or are you trying to silence criticism? Because your response shows the later.

Just say that there's nothing inappropriate about it, you don't have to bring out the "baby's first attempt at philosophy" dictionary.

I'm thorough in my responses to anything, because the rest of the time I can't be assed to say anything. Anxiety likes to be thorough. Unfortunate if that comes off as a 'baby's first attempt at philosophy'. Is being too verbose in situations where it's not necessary something I could improve upon? Sure, but I didn't ask to get saddled with my family's issues so in the meantime I'm not about to apologize for it.

Everybody is welcome to their critique, opinions and thoughts. I don't have any kind of personal investment in his opinion or any of the other half dozen people in this comment section making sexual connections. If I wanted to stifle criticism you'd see thorough responses to all of them.

No, in reality I just get triggered on occasion from short comments worded in a way that frame that view as fact, when it's not. I just don't see why people can't take ownership of thier views when everything is subjective. As far as the view itself goes, I stopped personally caring about what other people think years ago. Life's much easier when you don't give a fuck.

Thanks for the brash assessment, though. Really woke me up and now I'm ready for work.

No, you're doing it again, with the "everything is subjective" thing with an added "stating opinion as fact". These are nothing but thought terminating cliches that are only useful to silence criticism. They may sound smart, but they're really not and I'd argue that they're completely devoid of any meaning. Just think about it:

"Everything is subjective": Well, then there's no truth. Everything is up to interpretation and personal points of view. Therefor, there's no point in discussing anything, because the concept of true and false don't exist. One person sees something as inappropriate, but why bother listening to criticism? It's just an opinion after all and not valuable in any sense. Except, when that opinion is yours apparently.

"Stating opinion as fact": Well, why not? Do I really have to put "I think" and "in my opinion" in front of every sentence, despite it being evident? And of course I state it as fact, from my point of view it is a fact. And me having an opinion is also a fact. Subjective qualities don't get more factual than that. And really, you saying that there's nothing inappropriate about the picture, is also stating opinion as fact. And now we're back to my original problem, which wasn't your verbosity by the way.

You know you could just say that there's nothing inappropriate about this and we'd be as close to the truth as we could. People may think otherwise, but that wasn't the intent so who cares at that point.

Why am I even bothering with this? You already interpreted my argument as an attack. I'm only trying to make people stop using these obnoxious thought-terminating cliches, so we can finally have some meaningful discussions. Because we're at a point where people can just say "it's your opinion" and completely shut down any further development.

This could have been avoided if you just said "no, you're wrong, there's nothing inappropriate about this" instead of regurgitating meaningless pseudo-philosophical nonsense.
