Description
Ever go back to one of your old drawings and decide you want to revisit the subject matter?Looking at this drawing from December 2007 [link] , I suddenly had an urge to draw Marge underwater in the kitchen again. Only this time, I implemented a few new techniques. First of all, I tried my hand at a much more realistic underwater pose, one that made it look like she was not only really floating, but also kicking her legs to stay in one spot. Then I tried my new Paintbrush shading method. I also used my new transparent bubble trick.
And then, after all that, I spontaneously decided to try a new method for making a scene look like it's underwater - a full-screen Gaussian Blur effect, coupled with my previous method of a semi-transparent layer of flat blue. It all combines together to make what I consider to be one of my finest-looking underwater drawings yet! What do you think?

How does she breathe, I think sooner or later your gonna have to be drawing dead bodies floating around, Im pretty sure even toons can't hold their breath forever, lol

Again, I hope I'm not offending anyone, the one who obsess with water has no fear when polar ice cap melts.

I like fluidity, no pun intended I swear to God, that you use when you draw simpsons fan art. Its gives it a sense of movement and animation. I remember a pic you made of Homer pushing a box into a mail...box...thing (whatever you call them)and I was so impressed beause it looked like he was actually actively shoving the box. Nice.

I love how on-model you get the backgrounds! Really great perspective in this one and the FG one

Wow.... you actually got Marge to show off cleavage. I don't know whether to be proud or disturbed.

You've outdone yourself, JB. Probably the most convincing underwater effects I've seen from you. I still can't get over how easily you seem to mimic other artists' styles. Outstanding!

Certainly a huge and effective difference between these two Marges, mate. I reckon you've mastered the art of water very well
BTW, the floating pepper in the background is a good touch

You really have the underwater feel here.
Everything from Marge's pose to the towels floating really give it that feeling! Love the paper towel rack to!

Excellent upgrade, I say! You've really gone all-out on the pose, as well as the background - completly redone with your improved technique, what with the shaded window and newly transparent glass near the sink!
The shading's great, everything's the way it should be underwater, even her hair. Give yourself a pat on the back mate.

I like these new effects! Using darker colors does give the impression of being underwater. Good work as always.
