Description
Stumbled upon "Rand Weaving" by Hamdiggy, which was just a lineart the artist asked a charitable soul to color. I'd never done that before, but being a lost WOT fan and considering the lack of good fanart on DA... I could not help myself
God... I'm a noob. I don't know how you make those little avatars instead of the artist's name? Ugh -_- Pardon my inexperience!
Really hope it'll please Hamdiggy though! Not perfect work, but I think it's decent ... For the weaves, I had always pictured something more 'celtic-style', and I think I recall them being supposed to be 'whiter than white' so hey. That's my shot at it.
Photoshop 7 / Few hours... nothing much obviously.
EDIT 26-04-10: Just re-read my description and, being the amazing DA woman I am now, I can grace this description with the actual Icon. Marvelous! Thanks to for the wonderful sketch- WoT Fanart!

In the end he was getting pretty scary ... Though like I mentioned the actual lineart is not mine, it's Hamdiggy's. I only added colors. I guess I could have made him look a little more youthful by removing some lines in his face, but at the time I didn't touch the lineart itself.

If you had read my comment under the picture, you would have seen that I only did the colors on that drawings. The lines are Hamdiggy's. Before you start criticizing, make sure you've actually read the background of the piece.
And try to make your critiques a bit more constructive, because sounding like an ass won't make you any friends and is just plain rude.

the colors are crap too. The dragons tattoos are supposed to be gold and red. Where is the gold?

In full size you can see the gold glinting.
You can think what you want, I will not waste my time on poorly formulated criticism. When you give feedback, make sure it's not merely saying stuff is 'crap' and the 'worst thing ever'. Thank you.

if you say so, though I don't get why you would want to hide the gold in the first place.
and I am only telling the truth. I have seen a lot of Rands in my time, and though some of them have poor art, this is one of the worst when it comes to depicting the character. Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful picture. But I can't stand to see Rand portrayed like this.

I've always pictured the dragons with more red than gold. I understand that with fanart people can get angry when the characters they love are not depicted in a way they feel gives them justice. I will not argue if you feel like it's the case with the picture, to each their vision.
I was more offended by the WAY you told your opinion, not BY your opinion itself.

I can get touchy about WOT related stuff. And all the comments here were like 'this is great' that I got angry that ppl didn't see how inaccurate this was...
