this reminds me of when I was in kindergarten and during recess almost every day this peacock would just strut out onto the playground and the entire grade would just case it around and the peacock nor the teachers really minded

Yes, it was very close to me, so that was the best moment to take a picture.
In Germany we call this Bird "Pfau", only the male ones are that beautiful.
