The Dayan Unicorn is a Da that has gained a horn by drinking from the Mere of the Moon, the sacred pool of the unicorns. It is said to have potent powers, and drinking from it makes a horn sprout on their brow.

The Da, as far as the unicorns know, come from the City of Fire, far across the vast sea. They have brushlike mane that stands up, a full silken tail, and round hooves, with no feathering on their legs. Most importantly, they have no horn. They are usually dull, plain colors.

Not many Da reside among the unicorns, the ones that do have been washed ashore, surviving by miracle the many days at sea without drowning.
