Some paint work on the planet mode for a more G1 transformers movie accurate look, and holes in one of the included open planet mouth parts sculpted and painted over for a more seamless look for display in planet mode.Bot mode front and back pics show that the added paint work did not hurt anything in bot mode. Mostly only visible on the backs of his legs and shoulders.
It took some thinking to figure out where I was safe to paint considering where parts would end up in bot mode. So much of the robot mode is actually the planet's surface too.
This is a really cool figure! I dreamed of having a Unicron this good since I was a kid.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from and who knows, I might not like transforming him a lot and save up to get this guy to have a planet Unicron and a robot mode one. I think I just want to say I have an official one that while nor accurate in robot mode, does bring a lot. That and I've not owned any of the city bots so if I'm gonna have a 24 inch and upper I'd like it to be the chaos bringer.
But as I said I may very well save up to get one of these just so I don't have to transform it a lot. LOL I just wish I was able to pre-order FT Thomas before it sold out, snagged Berserker. I may be a chug guy, but I will fudge things for the sake of the best representation. That and triple changer scale has always been wonky.

Very true about their greed, it's why if there's something like FT Thomas and Berserk I'm going to get them over the siege or old generations astrotrain and Blitzwing. Sure they're good figures in their own right but when 3P just knocks the paint apps and articulation out of the freaking park it makes the official looks like a lazy cash grab. Don't even get me started with the old Galvatron, it's why I got Mania King. As for the Unicron, I just really liked the size and the line work. Yes, Zeta has made a very movie accurate (aside from things that you fixed) Unicron but it was jus a bit too short for me and I really liked the planet mode of the Haslab, so I just went for it.
I just see it as I'll support official enough to contribute to making the brand still profitable while still getting 3P here and there when they're clearly superior in every aspect.

The only MP I've delved into is the Beast wars and that's because I'm able to not be behind on it like the G1 MP.i have the dinobot reissue pre-ordered and working on a game plan for Cheetor, Blackarachnia, and Shadow Panther as he'll be my Ravage. Can't wait for Tigatron, got him on pre-order as well
