Whew! I did a lot to this guy.
The goal was to make the Transformers ROTF leader class Jetfire figure look more like the strong proud Autobot warrior he was in G1. I used a mix of the G1 toy and the show (Skyfire) colors. The end result was just what I hoped for- A taller and younger robot that screams G1 Jetfire at a glance.

It took much more work that I expected to make his legs able to be posed in a full standing position. Had to take the legs apart and dremel out several areas that restricted him standing tall. There were tiny parts and springs involved so I did a bit of cursing before pulling it off. He is as sturdy as can be and now stands like a true soldier!

For a younger and more G1 face, I cut and dremeled areas away, overall changing his bearded and whiskered look. Now he has the black rods coming out of the sides of his head more like G1, and a movie style face partly sculpted out of Apoxie Sculpt.

I also dremeled away areas of the jet cockpit and painted it metallic blue, and I made him a gun attachment that makes his cane into a G1 rifle. The gun part was made from a G1 ramjet missile. It clips right on and off.

Finally after hours of painting, I put Autobot insignias on his inner wings and the rear vertical wings.

2 panels that are usually attached to Jetfire's shoulders snap right on and off. They are off in the photo here because the add a bit of bulk that takes from his new look.
