I wish there was an easier way to fix the hips.

It's such a shame hastak didn't catch such a fatal flaw in a pretty damn awesome figure.

Yeah but from the 2 forums I read about it, going though loads of pages I found that only a couple of people said their Trypticon broke a hip. Some people were saying that how common an issue it is has been blown way out of proportion. Still, better safe than sorry I suppose.

I was told there was two ways of doing it but both involve modifying the hip springs. ah well.

My God it's beautiful!
What did you do to fix the self-destructive hips?

Unicron9 In reply to NovDecJan [2017-07-29 12:10:19 +0000 UTC]
Self destructive? They do click loudly when i move them but I like that they are so strong. Have they been breaking on people?

Yea, multiple people have had full failure when the inside of the hips break.Β www.seibertron.com/transformerβ¦
When I fixed it I cut the spring in half and added packing on one side, but that proved too loose so the other leg I cut about 1/3rd of the spring and that alone seemed just about perfect.

Daaaaang I didn't know those scary snapping clicks were a time bomb to the joints. I'll have to get to that mod soon. Thanks.

Maybe the springs can be swapped for the super weak ones in Metroplex hahaha

Well I've got his legs off and ready for whenever I can make the time to do that mod.

Thankfully his legs were a lot easier to fix then Metroplex, it helps that there is only one spring per leg to worry about.

Oh damn this looks awesome. Great tribute to G1 Trypticon.
What does this figure look like when transformed (if it does transform)?

Google "Titans return Trypticon" to see it in city and ship mode. Most of the paint work I did was only for godzirra mode.

Wait, Trypticon is a triple-changer? I thought the battle fortress was his only alt-form.

The way I understood it as a kid was that he had a city mode and a battle fortress mode, kind of like Metroplex. Now Metroplex's battle mode is called a ship so I guess they did the same with Trypticon.

You're very welcome and also I bet you did some mods on him particularly the hips, the tails, and/or door chest.

Unicron9 In reply to BiggEzilla82 [2017-07-29 12:07:57 +0000 UTC]
I only made the chest door stay closed better. I like the tough hard clicking joints in the hips as long as the joints don't break.

Fair enough and hopefully your figure is fine for a long time. If not than damn $150 dollars down the damn toilet.

Yeah after being alerted to the hips breaking on some I do plan to mod them. Sure as hell don't want him broken after hours of painting him. I noticed his tail locks tightly in the raised position and to make it fold back it pops loudly like there is some kind of release button I haven't found. It's kinda scary too, and the tail wont lock into the normal position at all for base and ship mode. When I pick up the ship the tail half just flops down.

I've red that the people basically glue the ratchet onto the cross shaped whatever it is and wait until glue dries and than reassemble it back together. It works for them and others they use the ToyDojo method of squeezing the spring itself about 10-15 minutes until it's less stiff. Good lord that sounds wrong if you think about it. But yeah Hasbro really should test their stuff out before shipping it out.Β

I mean I get it we as customers don't want to fix something on what we purchase because somehow a company fails to test it in the first place. But, we know that theirs going to be some issues with figures some will be minor and easy to fix while others take a time to get it the way the person sees fit.Β
