This piece was started back in 2018, and finished for New Year's this year (2023).

It started as a random sketch of Eternal Universe back during a low point in my life in order to keep my wits about me. I was on the other side of the planet under a great deal of stress, which triggered an acute depression that affected my daily life. Somehow, drawing my muse still acts as an anchoring point after all these years (~24 now).
After that, I picked at this piece in little ways over the next few years - always when I was far from home, and always in a state of distress. It became a type of therapy piece, and I loved how she kept her stance strong and resolute despite what was happening inside me.
The only time I didn’t work on this away from home was this past New Year's Eve…when I gave it its final touches.
My character’s aura here is exactly how I’m heading into the new year - solemn, yet with steadfast resolution.
To put it lightly, this journey has been taxing, just as I know it’s been for many others. I’ve chosen not to publicize details at this point, but I promise that hasn’t made them any less legitimate or life-altering.
Today, I’m starting a new approach to taking control of my mental health, and my hope is wildly brighter than it was a year ago. In time, I’ll be sharing more of what I’ve learned and continue to learn in hopes of helping others make the most of their life adventure and highlight purpose.

In the meantime, I want to sincerely thank those of you who’ve seen me through this weird life and semi-death of my artistic endeavors, yet chose to support me anyway. ♥️ Along with the original posting of this piece, I prayed for the coming year, not to bring us nothing but happiness…but that we would cultivate strength, wisdom, gratitude, and a powerful joy as we inevitably face greater challenges.
