Description
Backspace: Command (he)- A shopkeeper who's basically an adrenaline junkie. Whenever he is not working at his shop, he goes looking for action. He just wants to see beings.... disappear.
(Redesigned) Skip: Media Control (he)
- A small energetic pipsqueak who's always looking for trouble.
Zoom: Function (she)
- Working at the library with History and Search. She's caring and worrying. She can't stand any chaos and get's stressed out easily.
The Arrows: Dance Group
Up: Command (he)
- The leader of the dance group. Optimistic, ambitious and passionate. Wants to be on the top and loves rivalry.
Down: Command (he)
- The pessimist of the group, questions decisions and is always prepared for the worst. He just wants to look out for the group.
Right: Command (they)
- They're unsure and emotional. They really just wants to be told what to do. Can't deal with things by themselves.
Left: Command (he)
- Confident and level-headed. Usually goes with the flow, but doesn't mind giving out suggestions to the group.
End: Command (he)
- Usually works with Refresh, looking out for the DATA and gives advice when needed. He is the Control you go to if you have trouble on your mind.

Anyone can make them, as long as they are called fan characters. Meaning you can't use them in any other world than the Media Controls universe.

No it's not. And I encourage to make fan characters of names I've already done, because those are acceptable as Controls.

Hi! Can i make characters like These? With the whole computer idea? I'll credit you, you can take the ones i create, i just really like these characters and they really inspired me! I won't claim them as my own (since they're based on your idea) and i won't use them to make any money.
Sorry if you don't like that, I'm just really bad with character design and I'm trying to make that change.

Did you make a Scroll, Click, or Mouse character yet? Not sure if they count if media controls tho since they're not on the keyboard.

What exactly counts as a media control?

Media controls are just, well, media controls. You can look up the list on wikipedia or something.
Then the other Controls are something that controls something. Like Brightness controls the light etc..
Mouse doesn't work because it's the physical thing you hold to use the cursor. Click is just the action of the cursor and so is scroll. (Well, more like action of the mouse.)
Cursor would be the character to create there. Click and scroll could be abilities of Cursor, but not as separate characters.
They also need to be some kind of buttons seen on the computer screen. Something like parts of a computer wont work because they're not anything interractable on the screen.

Oh wow, I didn't think the requirements would be that complicated, but it sounds understandable.
What do you think will happen when you finally finish all the designs for the media controls and Controls?
Will you start to anthropomorphize other groups of things, or begin redesigning old characters?

Yeah well, this was never meant to be something fans could create fan characters for. But because some made characters without permission and they wouldn't have worked, I needed to make these rules.
I didn't want to stop people make fan characters either, because some of them are REALLY into the concept.
I know I'm pretty strickt with these rules, but I just don't want this to go out of hands.
But I must say, I have had to look through my fingers a few times because the FC designs are something that I wouldn't personally make for one reason or another.
But for future projects? Well, I won't stop designing. That's for sure.
I need to redesign a few Controls since I am not satisfied with them. And probably need to redesign some if the plot needs it. (Usually the death count of the Controls fuck up the timeline).
And I could always anthropomorfize other things for fun, for a smaller project or so.

Cool, good luck with figuring out designs and elements for your plot! I know I'm a few too many questions, but is there any place where you post the ongoing story for your media control characters? Skimming through your DA account, I couldn't find anything.
The only few thing I know about your story so far is that glitches and malware exist as the antagonists, death results in an extra eye being added to a media control, and that Play and Pause are pals, having some sort of feud with Stop or something.
What you've got going on sounds pretty unique and interesting, but I don't really know what to make of the small details you list for each character you design in your description as a whole.

Ah no, there is no complete story. Just bits and pieces scattered around my accounts. Mostly dA and YT.
Yeah, the info in the descriptions are pretty much notes for myself. The things you get from them is the personalities and skills.
This is such a huge project that I am working on the worldbuilding and character relations right now. The complete story is not my main focus at the moment.

Ok, Story Time. So for my art project at school, we had to choose an artist we liked and emulate their style and create something new. So I chose to emulate you and decided to create a character that would fit within your Media Control world. I looked around and found one character you hadn't done: Zoom. I love your characters! I actually had so many character ideas like this before I discovered your stuff. I kinda discarded the character ideas because I was too afraid I would get yelled at of "copying" you or stealing your ideas.
