Description

I have mixed feelings on making a new ref for Rico so soon after I got the one I commissioned but I just couldn't resist redesigning her coat and colors a bit since I was kinda ehhhh about it. Oh well I guess. The old ref is still good for a slightly younger Rico?

I drew Rico to match the last drawing of Soliel I did so I could put them together and see their heights side by side:

Personality:

Rico has a peppy, over the top attitude and is easily excited, especially by fashion trends and spy movies. She's always loved writing, and can almost always be found writing ideas for stories down into her notebook or computer regardless if she's actually working or not. Outside of the passion she has when sharing her creations, she's actually somewhat of a recluse, preferring to write in the comfort of her home, usually in her pjs or at least, something not quite as dressy as her usual wear. She doesn't like to admit she's as shy and as much of a recluse as she really is, and gets nervous at the thought of people seeing her when she's not looking her best. She's a little bit of a crybaby who bursts into tears at the slightest conflict, but she also gets large bursts of confidence occasionally.

History:
Rico grew up in district 1 in a rich neighborhood, and because of the area she lived in, it wasn't uncommon to see actors and other celebrities around the area. This glimpse into their glamorous lifestyle inspired Rico to pursue acting, and when the new show Adventures of the Interstellar Spy opened auditions, Rico begged her parents to let her audition. She ended up getting the role as one of the show's main character, working on the show until her teens. After the show ended, Rico fell into a depressed state, missing her time working on the show, and began to write fanfiction to cope with the depression. Through her writing she discovered her intense love for spy fiction, and began to seek out more works related to spy fiction, and even began to write her own original works. As an adult, she geared her passion for writing to writing for other tv shows, and eventually was given the opportunity to work on a reboot of Interstellar Spy as the main screenwriter. This opportunity ignited her love for her childhood passion and spy fiction even more, and she now works on the reboot, and occasionally returns as an actor as an older version of the character she previously played.

Rico is extremely overprotective of Soliel because she knows the full extent of his mental state

She was in marching band in high school and played snare

Rico's allergic to most animals on NAV-0X, but alien animals don't seem to effect her

She sleeps with plushies of her favorite characters and has lots of fictional crushes

She's so attached to her former role in Interstellar Spy that she still responds to the name Dione

Has a habit of holding her coffee or tea with her tentacles so she can drink and write at the same time

Soliel and Rico have been friends ever since their childhood, and because of this, they have a deep amount of trust and affection for one another. They dated in high school, but broke up because they found more fulfillment in being friends. Despite their strong bond, they encountered a rough patch in their friendship after Soliel went to Earth and began drinking so excessively. They lost contact for a while after an intense argument, but later made up and Rico promised to help him through his alcoholism. Her support was one of the things that finally put him on the road to recovery. Even through his relapses she supported him, and with their growing trust in one another, decided to enter a queerplatonic relationship. They consider each other lifelong partners, though they aren't romantically involved with one another... though there are rumors that they could be friends with benefits, but maybe that's just the media looking to stir up some drama.
