I've actually been working on this ref ever since I posted that revamped drawing of Rhapsody, but I've honestly just been taking my time making this ref since Rhapsody's character still hits some sensitive spots for me that I'm trying to get over slowly but surely.

It's kind of funny thinking about how Rhapsody used to be more of a main character than Royale is to me now, and yet I've probably got a lot of watchers who've never even seen him before. Regardless though, I do want to eventually reestablish him as one of my mains.

Personality:
Rhapsody has a warm, bubbly personality that invites people to interact with him. He loves socializing and meeting new people, and while he's not at all shy, he tends to distance himself from humans, other incubi or succubi, and vampires due to past experiences with them. In fact, though he isn't aware of it, he can be quite sarcastic and judgmental, especially towards other incubi and vampires, though he tends to keep his negative thoughts to himself. Rhapsody is easily embarrassed and frightened, so a gentle and friendly demeanor is often required around him unless he's with someone he knows well. Being an incubus, Rhapsody can come off as rather flirty, even if he doesn't mean to be, which he wouldn't be so embarrassed about if incubi weren't so looked down upon in his society. While he's rather proud to be his species, he doesn't like the social stigmas that come with being an incubus, and as a result, he tries to avoid all of them as best he can, most obviously by the way he dresses, as he tries to appear less menacing by wearing pastel clothing. Rhapsody has always dreamt of being a music teacher due to his love of music and children, but refuses to pursue this dream because he's scared of what parents will think about an incubus being around their children, however, he is still extremely happy with his job as a member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as their principal clarinetist.

History:
Rhapsody grew up in a large household consisting of him, his dad, two moms, and seven siblings, and as a result he's incredibally used to company and gets lonely easily. As a child his parents encouraged him to be involved in many activities, and he quickly feel in love with singing. In middle school Rhapsody began to learn how to play the clarinet, and he eventually stopped singing as much as he used to in order to focus on clarinet more. One of Rhapsody's moms, Cadence, was a conductor for a small community orchestra, and Rhapsody spent years under the direction of his mom, who was a huge influence on his decision to continue with music.

In high school Rhapsody met a boy by the name of Cass that he quickly developed a crush on. His feelings were returned, but Cass was an angel, and so it was hard for them to spend time together, as an accidental touch or glance from Cass could severely injure or even kill him. Their parents however, didn't agree with their relationship, and wanting to obey his parents, Rhapsody broke it off. Cass on the other hand found it extremely difficult to let go, and still went after Rhapsody until his crush became a lustful obsession. Cass' own actions were considered quite sinful, and he was banished, becoming a fallen angel. Still, he was obsessed with Rhapsody, and now that Cass and Rhapsody could be close to one another without worry of hurting each other, they began to keep in contact once again, but Rhapsody only really saw Cass as a friend at that point, and wasn't aware of Cass' feelings for him.

College was an experience that Rhapsody would never relive for many reasons, beginning with his busy schedule as he double majored in music and magical engineering, leaving him little time to socialize outside his studies. On top that, Rhapsody was beginning to enter the next stage of life for an incubus; No longer could he rely on food for energy as he used to, but instead he was being forced to rely on sexual energy. Upon his realization that he was asexual, Rhapsody fell into a deep depression, and forced himself into one night stands he truly didn't want to he involved in, as he feared for his life. He later discovered that he could gain the energy he needed without having sex, with energy potions that allowed his body to convert other emotional energies into life energy. This helped Rhapsody regain his emotional health, though, the potions were still somewhat inefficient, resulting in an addiction to sweets in order to make up for the lost energy*. Though things were looking positive for Rhapsody in his sophomore year, his junior year in college took a turn for the worst when he was assigned to Allen, his new vampire roommate who later raped him, leaving Rhapsody with a multitude of scars, both physical and mental. Rhapsody was later diagnosed with PTSD, and Cass, who had also been going to the same university helped Rhapsody seek therapy, as well as help him cope with his trauma in his own way by making Rhapsody a custom coat, gloves, and collar. These items are incredibally important comfort items to Rhapsody and being without them makes him extremely anxious. The experience left Rhapsody with a deep fear of vampires. Even still, Rhapsody is prone to having panic attacks and/or fainting if he sees a vampire and/or or sees or smells blood.

Despite Rhapsody's rough years that followed, he graduated and was hired as a clarinetist for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, where he was eventually promoted to principal clarinetist, and still holds this title.

Rhapsody was one day approached by a man by the name of Z (owned by Zukoukuyo ) who Rhapsody somewhat took in after he broke into Rhapsody's house, but despite Rhapsody's efforts to remove him, kept coming back. Rhapsody was initially afraid of him for not only breaking in, but for his vampire-like appearance. However, Z proved to be little more than a mischievous, but harmless dragon, and he was reluctantly allowed to stay. Though Z is actually quite wealthy, he mooches off of Rhapsody, but does help provide for some of the household's more... ridiculous expenses.

Rhapsody later met a dragon by the name of Kuyaru (owned by Zukoukuyo ), and though Rhapsody was initially scared of him for his tall stature and odd mannerisms, they eventually formed a bond over similar interests and began dating. They eventually married and had two children, Kudeco and Zereth. However, while they were still dating, Rhapsody learned that Kuyaru is actually Z's father, making Z Rhapsody's son in law.
