I agree with you on Zilla/GINO, he was too dinosaur like and unrecognizable, and he didn't act like Godzilla or have his atomic breath.
As for the design on this page, it's okay, but way too dinosaur like. It's basically just a t-rex with spikes on his back. But, I do like it's textures and slightly reddish brown spike color.
To be a bit off topic, in my American Godzilla fan fiction project, I plan to keep Godzilla like his original Japanese counterpart, with a few twists of course. Some concepts I will be using for his design include making him more dinosaur like (but not overdoing it), making his "razor sharp and lightning fast", and adding some of my own personal touches. You can read up on it in my journals.

Yes...Gareku...You know the idea of this design was to be dinosaur like...Right?
And while it does have Tyrannosaur characteristics...Its not a "T-Rex with Spikes". The head isn't that of a tyrannosaurid. The arms are too long and have too many digits. While it has its fair amount of body weight, I believe it is a lil bit more than a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
I think your point that "its a T-REx with spikes" and it being "too dinosaur-like" are moot and being ignorant to the purpose of the design.

That's the point of how idiotic the American version was. Unlike the Japanese version, NOTzilla was NOT a Dinosaur, he He/She was a Mutated Lizard. So making Hir MORE Dinosaurian was retarded. Oops, point totally invalidated. And Dragonball sucks.

Um, yes, because that was a good retort to my post. Because Zilla and this design has so much in common.

No, his retort was that this Godzilla was more dinosaur like. I was pointing out this Godzilla should be LESS dinosaur like, because he was never a dinosaur, he was a lizard.

The real Godzilla was originally a dinosaur, a "Godzillasaurus" (Recently discovered theropod was actually given the name, it's a real dinosaur now lol) But it's okay, people make that mistake all the time. Zilla was a mutated lizard though, which makes no sense considering his dinosaur like appearance, now if he were a mutated bird then I could understand.

Um, Godzilla was never a lizard...
Godzilla was always a dinosaur. His creators derived his design from Tyrannosaurus Rex, Iguanodon, and Stegosaurus. In the movie Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991), Godzilla's origin was revealed. Godzilla was a Godzillasaurus mutated by the fallout of atomic weapons in the 50s. Guess what, a dinosaur. It may have been a fictional dinosaur, but Toho said he was a dinosaur.
Godzilla was only a mutated lizard when Tristar/Roland & Emmerich handled him. That was just for GODZILLA (1998.)
Godzilla has ALWAYS been a dinosaur. He was even a dinosaur in the movies that followed GODZILLA.

except for the American movie version That version WAS a mutated lizard created during the Pacific Atomic testing as demonstrated by all the shots of Lizards getting caught in atomic bllasts in the opening!

OH MY CRAP, SHUT UP ABOUT THE FRICKING GODZILLA WARS!!!!! AT LEAST THE AMERICANS MADE GODZILLA REALISTIC!!! Example Teenage mutant ninja Turtles. MUTATED FROM RADIATION, HOWEVER, MUTATION DOES NOT EQUAL THE ABILITY TO BE UNREALISTICALY INDESTRUCTABLE!!!

Yeah it looks good, to bad he would break his legs if he stood up. WHY DO YOU THINK GODZILLA'S LEGS ARE SO FAT? ITS TO KEEP HIM STANDING! JUST LOOK AT THE LEGS OF AN ELEPHANT OR APATOSAURUS!!! In fact, in this sense one could say that the REAL Godzilla is more realistic than the American, er, "Remake"....

Also, Who cares if he didn't have atomic breath??? HE TORE DOWN BUILDINGS WITH HIS TAIL!!!!!
BTW, before the remake of Godzilla, IT LOOKD LIKE A BARNEY ON STEROIDS.
Have a good day, my fellow artist. May the American Godzilla crush you with it's foot.

Who cares? Nothing is realistic to begin with. Mutations are totally random. The odds alone of mutated creature mantaining its biological functionality are incredibly small! It's next to impossible!
They're just movies.
