Definitely the hotel. The music, the atmosphere, it just creeped me out quite a bit. The labyrinth prison place is close behind it. xD

This is just from a personal observation, but I think its purpose was representing each character's psychology, James's, Angela's, and Eddie's, I mean. There's no map or anything, James draws it as he goes along, so, maybe it's showing his confusion? It could be a whole bunch of things. xD

Yeah I thought something similar too! And how James kept jumping down
almost like he was going further and further into himself!
But it was still so creepy! And never really explained!
