As Jason pulled into the police station he noticed that he was being watch, the man watching him wore red and blue rags. "huh must be a hobo" Jason muttered as he set the vehicle into park. He got out and noticed that the public parking spaces were packed. Jason felt that something was off and sprinted towards the entrance, he bolted through and went straight to the chief's office. "what in gods name is going on we never been this booked" it is true the small town Manhattan had no more than a 1,000 citizens which means there wasn't a lot of crime. "Ever heard of knocking boy!" the chief yelled as he settled back in from being startled, "whats with all the commotion?" Jason asked again as he pulled a chair up to the man's desk. "You don't know? what kind of detective are you!" Jason tensed holding back a rude replay, "well there's been a lot of missing happening lately from people to animals from the zoo and pet stores, it's the strangest thing too who would do such a thing?". "Look we need you some others to go around the town and look for these people we'll handle the animals" "alright chief" Jason said as he headed for the weapons armory "i take it your going to use your 'good luck charms'" the chief said as he headed for the phone room "you bet" Jason replayed as he grabbed a revolver and a sliver double barrel shotgun. He headed for his car when he was stopped by the hobo he saw early "you sir you need to head back to the doctor!" he yelled as he tugged the man "hurry your our only hope!" Jason grabbed the old geezers hand and pulled it off. "Hey what's your problem, you drunk or something" Jason walked away shaking his head in frustration. "You are the experiment i knew the Dr. who experimented on you his name is maverick please you must stop him i seen what he is creating you need to stop it, you are the beast man!", Jason got in the car "what the... what was that about" Jason murmured to himself in confusion "beast man?" Jason took hold of his glove thinking of pulling it off but stopped himself "you promised you would never show your left arm and eye again" Jason set the vehicle into drive and took off.

The car roared past the National Discovery sign. He took a left and parked in the abandoned parking lot of the lab. Regretting the decision Jason was about to drive off towards town when someone caught his eye. A man in a black hoodie approached the car yelling something, Jason set the car in reverse and took off setting it back to drive. He a jested his mirror and saw that the man was standing on the back hood of the car "what the!" Jason said the man punched the back window shattering it, Jason slammed on the brakes. The man went flying and landed right in front of Jason's car. Jason got out grabbing his revolver pulling the old safety switch off. "Why did you do that i'm a detective and you sir are under arrest-" Jason was stopped as the man lunged at him holding a hatchet. Jason cursed and shot a bullet into the man's head, the man stumbled then fell with a sickening thud. Jason stood there gasping "i didn't mean to shoot he looked at the arm that was holding the gun, his gloved hand trembled then slowly put the gun into his holster. Jason looked back and saw that the man twitching. Jason pulled out his gun again switching to the next barrel that held a bronzed bullet with the words "goodbye" labeled on it. Jason approached the twitching body and poked it with his foot the body lurched the mans hands grabbed Jason's leg injecting a shot that held a black liquid. Jason yelped and shot the man 5 times emptying his gun's bullet into the mans body. The man whispered "i did it your animal blood will now take your mind then b-b-body" he chuckled then said "the doctor gonna like this". The man went limp, Jason ran towards his car, he sat down sweating wildly he pulled up his jeans that covered his injected leg. He felt dizzy and passed out.

Jason woke in a darkened place "where am i?" he asked he heard his voice echo seven times before stopping, he looked left and saw a man he ran towards him when he approached he saw that the man was eating something, it was a man! Jason gagged and fell back, a head rolled towards him it was the head of the man Jason shot earlier. The head smiled and whispered "your animal instincts will soon come in just you wait!" Jason looked up at the man before him and saw it was him smiling, bloodied from the man. Jason woke in the woods looking around him in pure fear as if the dream mit come real and kill him where he stands. Jason rubbed his face and realized that there was blood on his hands. Jason screamed and ran. Yelling for help knowing that none would come. He realized that he was in the National Discovery testing woods "how the.." jason said but was stopped by a nearby voice it said "welcome test subject 7318, i've been waiting for you, come greet the Dr. that gave you the power that you now have coursing through your veins" jason turned around and saw a elderly man in a dirty lab coat standing there "so 7318 hows this for a first encounter"
