Description
[link] <--On similarities, etc. for those "curious" about how close to an original I get. This is the medium quality version of the painting I did for Befu. It is for reference only for samples. It is not for profit so don't buy prints or whatever the heck of this. CLAMP does not allow for profit to be made and I don't want to make profit from that so yeah don't do it. I think I turned it off though.
It is eyeballing the oh so very famous and quite lovely Freya picture that's all over.
The stupid bumps on this are a result of the varnish. I can't get rid of them, but they don't show up on the actual painting normally because you don't ghettoblast the painting with such excessive light. The varnish is not something I am willing to ever skip for a matte finish beceause it is protective of the painting.
My name is covered by the enlarged zoomed-in sections because I don't really feel that comfy with random online people knowing my real name. o.O' It's a little creepy.

Wow, you do excellent work. If I didn't know better, I would totally have thought this was official art. Keep it up!

Do you like... have photographic memory or something?!?!!?
I have a good sized copy of that picture, and they're SO FREAKING IDENTICAL!

Really? That's wonderful then! ^.^!
I had a lil picture that was maybe smaller than 3 x 3 inches on my screen? Then the rest I just started to assume.
On photographic memory...kind of yes, kind of no. When I was younger I did have a more photographic memory, but primarily for music. It was also somewhat linked to ear training type thing too. Almost anything I hear, I can play the main melody of back to you on the first try. When I was younger it was that I could remember music really easily after seeing it once. But playing music after hearing it once wasn't easy when I was little. Now, it's that I can play many things if I hear it once, but I am a lot worse at photographic-music-memory.
On painting, I don't think it applies. I have to layer many layers and mix diff colors so it's not the same kind of, as reading music was. I do have to correct things quite frequently in painting, or rather layer over em. Hrrm..
So I guess overall answer is like 60% no. Only about 40% photographic memory and it only applies to music and text and numbers and bad as it may sound, scantron sheets. >.>' Got caught cheating once in second grade though and my god...got belted half to death, and haven't cheated since. It applies primarily to things that I can see and easily put down into something. Not painting unfortunately, because it's layered and mixed and a rather slower process on mixing of correct colors.

I have partial photographic memory, but that's caused by self-inflicted psychological experimentation (which is my one and only cure for chronic depression since I don't want meds). And it only works for text.
I do have that ear-training thing though. If I remember a piece of music that I hear, I can usually play it back. I improvise the harmony though, since often it's too much work to get the exact harmony notes. I just use the basic chord structures. But dude. We could be twins! O___O
in the musical sense, that is. I can't read music to save my life though. I can play, but learning notes is so freakishly hard! O AO!!
It's so awesome that you can paint well though. I have two acrylic paintings in my gallery, and both of them are so messy @___@
My one watercolor sucked too D8
I need more practice!

Re: Twins?! XD Mebbies!
Painting well unfortunately didn't come from photographic anything--I've been painting since about 4. I've had both formal piano lessons and art lessons since about 4. I took classes once I got to university too. That and it's always been a hobby of mine. I've tried acrylics and watercolors...but I am not as good in either. I actually fail at water color I think. I'm not good with it because it's a very unforgiving medium; if you fuck up, that's it you're screwed you gotta start over...you can't paint over it. Acrylics at least you can paint over it. Acrylics I don't like as much because it's hard to get the vibrance, the whites really white after you've painted a dark color. Oils are the most forgiving, but take the longest to dry. You can have a huge dark-color area, then decide you want some highlights in there, and actually go back and paint in more highlights. If you don't like how thick the painting is becoming, you can actually go back after it has dried and sand a bit off--no really, I've done it. As long as you're careful not to sand to the canvas itself. I love oils because you can use any tool you want almost with oils, and it's all fine, it'll turn out fine. Watercolors you gotta be a lot more careful.
Hey hey! If you have any questions about watercolors, I fail at it but Luciole here at DA is really really really good! Ask her! She's superduper nice too!

I loved oil for about 2 hours... then I fucking hated it for the next three weeks... @__@
I took piano lessons since I was 4 too 8D! Maybe we really are twins... D8!!!
My parents really discouraged me from doing art though... so for the better part of my 17.7 years of age, I could only draw in the dark. That really fucked up my eyes x_x.
I don't think it's a matter of technique... I just need way more practice O AO
*huggles* We have to do like... a collab one day! I dunno how we're gonna pull it off, buuuut... You're too awesome a person to pass up. XD

Yeah. =/ My parents also did not really want me to do anything art-wise in college. They thought I was gonna be a starving artist. Well, instead, I'm a starving student. XD With like an 80K student loan to one-day pay off... -_-'
You know...I think I've earned the most money from bartending, and then second to that from art? e.e It's friggin tuition that's running me broke, not art....but parents don't really understand that. Meh.
Yeah...I read a buncha novels in the dark when I was a kid, cause my dad thought novels were a waste of time. =/ My eyes were like, "zomg it buuurnnnss!" too.
^.^ Yeah we should try a collab somehow someday, but I dunno how exactly either, cause I just do traditional media, and I'm not entirely sure how to collab with people that aren't physically close-by using traditional media. o.O' Hehe. But maybe we can figure it out sometime.

OMG! My parents don't let me read either!!! O___O
I had to read in the dark too!
Hmm... What if I gave you a sketch/lineart and you copied it onto a canvas and painted it that way?

Hmm~
*munches on your hair* I'm sure we'll think of something. I'd mail you a canvas, but... that'd be pretty costly...
