I paint with light.I painted it all with my own hands.
Oh, light...my dear electromagnetic radiation.
Light is such a wondrous creature. It's a necessity for photography to survive, but it's also a beautifully malleable tool and model.
This is my tribute.
(and yes, it took about 30 tries to get a proper cursive writing of "light.")

i tried doing this once a loong time ago when a friend wrote his name. it sort of worked .. except my light was very sloppy, and my camera lightened up the background as well, so i didn't get the deep black background like you did. ahh, you continue to amaze me. ;D

I used the two types of light painting:
For writing "light," I kept my camera steady and--with an out-stretched arm--I wrote the word with a light on my cellphone.
For the wavy streams of light, I shot a picture of street lamps and business lights as I moved the camera.
(All with fairly long shutter speeds, of course.)
