Based loosely on the universe of goeliath with a crew of deserters from various factions working aboard a salvage freighter.

The varied crew members are all working as private contractors on a vessel registered to the New Staevik Republic. Although originally a merchant vessel, it has been requisitioned and upgraded to be a supporting vessel in the war effort. Many members on board were initially rescued from salvage operations following major skirmishes. Based on their skill set, they were either detained, deported, or debriefed on their new position as commercial conscripts.

The freighter captain is an old intelligence pilot that defected from the Azen Empire and joined the New Staevik Republic. Due to his flight hours and vast military intel, he has unusually high security clearance and subsequent pay. He still keeps his Azen flight suit, but adopted a UCR helmet and life support vest.

The medic interpreter from the Staevik Union is actually an unlicensed doctor that was discharged for disobeying augmentation protocol. He now serves as second in command aboard the ship even though having a terminal rank of lieutenant.

The chief engineer from the Omorfian Republic was fleeing arrest for racketeering during wartime. Given the option of being extradited or applying their engineering degree, they chose the latter. Ironically, the percentages allotted from current salvage operations are more lucrative than their previous clandestine ventures.

The salvage technician from the nascent Zephyr Republic was formerly a pirate raider caught fleeing Imperial forces. To avoid incarceration, she claimed having salvage and ship breaking skills in order to stay on board. Working together with the rest of the crew, she quickly secured survivors and cargo during extraction operations.

The boarding specialist from Acreron is actually a mechanic that deserted from the Empire due to lack of proper tools and equipment. Having a vast knowledge of ships systems and maintenance tools, he immediately became an indispensable asset to the crew and a mentor to the salvage technician.
