These are the current koi icons I've done, with a few more pending payment. ^.^From top left to bottom right:
First three are mine, =Shadowmanic
2 for inkbeest (LJ), 2 for nishastar (LJ)
*inuryoko , Zawisza (FA), 2 for WillowWhispers (FA)
Magpiebones (FA) x2, Koisnake (LJ), ~Xenonith
*Darkwolf-Studios x3, evillabrat (FA)
*Darkwolf-Studios x4
=damaiste x2, Nodge (LJ) x2
(I'd post refs for them, so you could see how they translated from four-legged furry beasts into feesh, but.. that's just a little too overcomplicated. So you get to guess. X3)
These are still open for commission, btw. :3 Check my journal for info. There are always slots open, since I can finish them fairly quickly. I'll update with more as soon as they're done. <3!

Ok. Currently im out of town so i cant do your char. ref right now. But, i can when i retur home. The character i want you to do is the dragon in the art work of mine, "The Dragon in Waiting". (the blue colors glow, so do the eyes)

Oh my these are fantastic. I absolutely love koi, and am currently trying to find a nice way to draw them so they work in this tattoo design I'm working on.
If I can spare the 3$ at some point I would love to get one... Guess that means I need to hurry up and do my revised fursona ref X3

Thank you! :'D Good luck with the tattoo.. you've got a pretty awesome idea, from what I can see. Are you planning on working in the scales, or are they (your koi) going to stay simple?

The current design looks a little too fru fru for what I was going for if that makes sense. I want to have minimal detail in it so I'm gonna be trying to change the lotus around to not be so overly detailed as well. My biggest issue right now is figuring out a good look for the koi. The main thing I wanna try and do is make them butterfly fin koi cause I love the way their fins look
Haha yeah once I get a new sketchbook I plan on doing some work on the design and markings for a ref

Hmm, I think I get what you mean. Have you tried making the lotus flowers flat color instead of linework? (Like, the petals are colored in, and the lines are not, instead of the lines colored in and the petals not.) Same thing could work for the koi, too. It's a nice, simple-looking solution. ^.^; *shrug*

As far as size go, Well I'm not very big, but it would be either an upper or lower back tat. Nothing too huge but not so small that you cant see the lines.

Well, if it's smaller (like a few inches across as opposed to your whole back XD), I don't think the filling in idea would take much longer than doing just the lines... (My sister is a tattoo artist, so I can ask her opinion, if you like, too.) *shrug!* Good luck with your design! : D

That is very true, I'll have to try and draw it out with the new style I'm thinking of, see how it works both filled in and not. And sure if you wouldn't mind asking then that is fine, I'd love to hear her thoughts on it.
