They only appear in the IDW comics. They were Cadence's friends when she was still in school. It's pretty good story actually that's how Shining Armor and Cadence met and it's done as a parody or tributeΒ to 80s romance movies. Shining is a hopeless nerd and Cadence is the most popular pony in school.
