Thank you so much for the patience qwq it took longer than expected to finish this piece, I wanted to experiment a bit with the background and got carried away c.c

"Wait, wait wait," Ddraig snapped up suddenly, "you mean to tell me, this WHOLE time, you've been sending Spyro to liberate the guardians, ALONE?!"
For a moment, Ignitus looked wounded, but he turned to Ddraig with his eyes fixed on Ddraig. His face was expressionless. "...I did," he replied, "I am not as strong or powerful as I used to be when I was your master. Of course I could've gone with Spyro, and believe me I wanted to," he looked away, "I hated sending him away... But I'd have only slowed him down. I didn't know what else to do."
"There were a THOUSAND different ways which didn't involve sending children to fight a war!" Ddraig barked.
"I know! But Spyro... He had such promise, and he still does. I saw the scales, and the power, and I had faith that he could do great things."
"...But, alone?" Ddraig's anger had subsided a little, leaving a grim disbelief, "...I, I could've helped, if you'd just contacted me? I could've had an army at Spyro's back the whole time, helping him, supporting him. He'd have been completely safe with my men!"
"There wasn't the time, Ddraig," Ignitus sighed, "you're a soldier, a field marshal. How long would it have taken you to prepare yourself, and rally an army, and get permission from the king? What about all the foreign lands Spyro would have to go to? Do you suppose Sekeolath would take kindly to you marching into their lands with an army? ...I understand you want to help, but... It wouldn't work. What if something happened to you? What would become of poor Eve? ...I'm sorry Ddraig, but it's simply better this way."
