Description The current final version which will hopefully get printed out for display at Botcon this year. There are likely more things I can tweak to make him even better but I am just running out of time for now.

I had to completely re-work the fur from the last version as when I attempted to render at a higher resolution the look of the fur completely changed. Gah. I do not look forward to doing large-dimension renders of fur again any time soon!

I rather like how he turned out all in all.

UPDATE:

I won first place in the 2D Computer Generated category in the Botcon art contest! Wooot!

Peter Cullen set the standard for Optimus' voice

and Gary Chalk perfected it

I love both of their voices equally, even if I did grow up more with Chalk's Optimus.

Beautiful! The scars really underline the fact that he's a fighter.

Thank you so much!

Eventually I am going to be going back and finishing the rest of him, which will cause me to likely have to strip off all the textures then put them back in place ( 3D ..it's fickle blaah). In doing this I hope to improve the weathering and damage and add more of that 'scaring'. If you look too hard he's missing weathering in some places that really need it. I ran out of time to get him done for Botcon.

I am glad you like him though!

Hey, what do the signs behind him in Maximalese say?

Thanks for your comments!

The text isn't real exciting. Just Bridge and Dorms I think. I didn't have time to be witty with it as I was getting into a time crunch to get him done in time for Botcon.

Makes sense, and that was what I was expecting. I just wanted to be sure.

Holy whoa. He looks amazing! I like the fur. He's a gorilla, and they aren't super hairy. Fantastic job!

Thanks! This is my first attempt at fur, and it gave me fits the whole time. When I do his full body it will be more refined. Should have seen some of the earlier tests. He was even more of a fluffy poofball than he is now..

Wow, man, your hard work has soooooooooooooooooooooo paid off. This is incredible! Love it!

And I love that you added Cybertronix in, too! *heads to the Bridge* Such an awesome little touch.

Thanks!

The wall just needed a little....something and a silly little arrow pointing directory seemed to work well enough. Wish I'd have written something wittier than bridge/dorm in retrospect, but ah-well.
