Description
The current final version which will hopefully get printed out for display at Botcon this year. There are likely more things I can tweak to make him even better but I am just running out of time for now.I had to completely re-work the fur from the last version as when I attempted to render at a higher resolution the look of the fur completely changed. Gah. I do not look forward to doing large-dimension renders of fur again any time soon!
I rather like how he turned out all in all.

I won first place in the 2D Computer Generated category in the Botcon art contest! Wooot!

Being a huge Beast Wars nerd (BW Is what made me want to go into 3D/FX work), I fully intend to do more Beast Wars stuff! I've been slowly picking away at a Dinobot model, it's just slow going for various Life related reasons.
I will eventually go back and do a full body version of Primal, as well.

I may eventually. Right now I'm working (off and on) on a full robot mode character model of Dinobot. Non transformable though, alas.

Comments like that motivate me to get off my butt and harass this artists block into submission so I can get back to work on these guys and finish a full model so I can do some animation.

I use a 3D program called Lightwave 9.5 as my primary program for modeling/rendering/everything. I also use Photoshop, and a program called Zbrush for various purposes.
As for making them transform, I have not tried yet, but I probably could. It is just kind of tricky to figure out and make it look good with the season one guys. The season one characters "cheat" a lot more with their transformations than season two and three of Beast wars. You can see parts just vanishing into other parts and such. I try to avoid obvious cheating at least, but maybe one day my technical skills will improve enough to make them transform.

At first his facial expression creeped out most people I showed it too! Until I explained it as "that slightly awkward grin you give when you are surprised by a camera in your face at an unexpected moment". I love how he turned out though
And yes. Yes you do. (Although Beast Machines might make you rage a bit if you really love Beast Wars, fair warning D: )
