Although noble.. the idea of 3 speeds is probably a terrible idea. The fastest speed is too fast. If the player can dart around the maps, the world will seem extremely small and confined. We must limit their movement at least slightly. The fact that there is a trot and walk speed give the illusion that they are going faster. If you want to do 3 speeds, it would probably only be a good idea for battle sequences.

walk and trot are more like role-play speeds i mean c'mon in what mmo does a player wana get around slowly?
think of galloping/running as a mount speed xD

yeah... but realisticly, people would rather dart around than just walk in role play. I mean... trot isn't slow at all, but run is WAY too fast. Imagine if you could fly around like superman in GTA4.... the world would seem so tiny

Wow. That's amazing! This fandom always has a lot of talent, and this is one of the prime examples. I love everything about this. Even the little things like the characters looking at you when you pass by. Bravo!

I really don't know how these games are done so can't give any "professional" feedback, but as a veteran old gamer, I can tell you I see lot of potential in this. Smooth character movement, the music is matching, looks great and brings back the atmosphere of good old days

This is some really good stuff. How did you end up tackling collision detection/resolutions. When I did an isometric game like this, I ended up having a separate texture that defined collidable areas, I was just wondering if you did it differently.

Simply awesome. The two areas so far have a "look & feel" that fit with the style of the show, and the music is incredible. I can just imagine Twilight quietly humming along with the theme in her library while studying.
The "Ponyville" theme me a serious "Radical Dreamers" vibe
I'll skip mentioning the things that others have already mentioned....
But I would like to say how it's a nice touch that Lyra's gaze follows you only while you're in a certain range of and "in front" of her. I've seen too many games where a characters gaze follows you _forever_, and it creeps me out.
I started writing a simple "Dragon Warrior"-style RPG once before- just as an experiment while learning Visual Basic 6 years ago (>.>). So I can appreciate how much work you're putting into this project!
