Description A few little sprites I made in my spare time away from our main game project. The character is a female base no armor/hair added yet.

got ideas for a weapon type i aint done yet? post em and i'll give it a try if i like it.

UPDATE 6:
Added crossbow and another house type
also changed the greatsword attack animations.
(the houses were made by another member of starlight studios)
will try adding a ridable horse next

UPDATE 5:
added a couple of buildings, altered movement speed and removed target cursor as it did not fit the control style
later i'll edit the S attack of the staff to a flame thrower like skill
will also try a crossbow weapon type

UPDATE 4:
added polearms and weapon descriptions.

UPDATE 3:
added dual wield daggers stabby stabby and dagger throw

UPDATE 2:
added Dual swords #5 and more clutter

UPDATE 1:
Now has magic staff and fireballs! #4

Is this Gamemaker BTW or Flash?     Just a weapon idea, how bout a Scythe?

When you block and jump at the same time you can not walk any more and this is persistent with all weapons except for bow and short sword

I like seeing the incremental progress on this, it's neat. Some issues I'm noticing though:

1. The crossbow's firing arc is useless against the slime enemies. It can only ever hit them at the very edge of the screen. It misses even at point-blank.

2. The character tends to lock up when trying to attack or block while jumping, or when blocking with certain weapons.

3. After a running jump against the border of the play area, the character continues their walking animation and sound effects indefinitely until you jump again.

4. I think the styling or color usage should be different between background elements and the character/enemies. Right now everything just sort of blends together and is hard to see when running.

1 yeah the slimes are a bit to short......i might make em bigger.

2 the character contol is locked while doing an action and when action is over its restored

3 i know but thats part of the engines problem not in what i done it always does that :/

4 well if i add an outline to non BG gfx like items characters mobs ect it would make them look chunky.

For #2, I mean that the lock -stays- when you try certain things. The character ends up completely unable to do anything until I reset or change weapons.

For #4, I don't think it's the lack of an outline. Try less-saturated/faded colors in the background and more saturated/vibrant colors for characters and items. That should help them stand out without any chunkiness.

no it don't, it just spawns the new sprite at the start of area.

fair enough, though that can be quit annoying when your at the end ( if the game were real) and you wanna change weapon, and the sprite reset everything XD

Good game!
though I have some few bugs that I saw:

Gravity is messed up when I try to use the bow in mid air unless the crosshair is pointed at the dirt blocks.
When trying to block using the bow it seems that the movements are disabled unless I press attack.
