Description
Now I lay me down to sleep
Into a slumber, dark and deep;
And if I die before I wake,
I hope your heart I did not break.

I am not worth your secret tears;
Please, enjoy your golden years.
And if dark clouds obscure your light,
A starless sky and dark midnight,
I ask you to not think of me;
Rather, let your soul be free.
The dawn will come with rosy grays
Then, noon time sun will break the haze!

The golden light will break your fears;
The warmest rays will dry your tears.
Althought my spirit will have left,
Never shall you need feel bereft.
For in the darkness, I am not close
It is only a passing ghost.
Do not fear their infernal wail
They are bound for eternal hell.

And if your vision my eyes do haunt
It is naught but unquenched want.
Do not busy your mind with me
Your life shall flow more easily.

To my bed I now retire
My breath, it has expired.
Spreading dark, I do not see
Good night my love, I die for thee.
