Description
Binturongs are Asiatic bearcats, a jungle-dwelling weaselly creature that resembles, more or less, an arboreal wolverine with a prehensile tail and whisker issues. Also, they smell like popcorn. No kidding. Rangy, gamy, somewhat musky popcorn, I'll grant you, popcorn that could use a little deodorant, really INTENSE popcorn that needs a shower something fierce--but popcorn. Go to the zoo and sniff the binturongs. It's popcorn. Nature is cool. This was the hardest of the three. It's also arguably the simplest, but I kept doing and redoing the composition, and changing the text, and gnashing my teeth. Finally, I did this one, and got the binturong's expression right. And that was all I needed. Everything fell into place after that. If I redid it, I could do the composition any number of ways, I could do anything with the bunnies, but I'd want to keep the poor bewildered binturong's expression.
Anyway! We have prints! In fact, we have a whole print SET! For a mere $20 plus shipping, you can get A, B, and C all together ($10 savings off buying 'em seperately) in small, or for $50 and shipping, all three in jumbo. Great for kids! Great for people expecting kids! Great for libraries! Great for people with large vocabularies who like obscure animals, which I suspect forms a striking majority of my audience! Send a note! We will also have the sets at Anthrocon, so visit the dealer table (hell, visit anyway and say hi!)

Definitely not a series, alright
I love. Not only do you wield your language as deftly as your painting tools, you also managed to draw my attention to the fact that Binturongs smell like popcorn. For this, and many other tings, I applaud thee!

there's a binturong at the aquarium of the pacific, but i think they bathe is, it smells like fresh popcorn. but when we went there on a class field trip (and had to find aboud 50 animals... and the staff there was no help with telling us what class anythign was...) the binturong wasn't there, but the cage still smelled like popcorn

Popcorn, eh? Hm, ya don't say.
Ugh, the joys of being a broke college student. I wish I could buy the set! Wonderful job. I hope you do the rest. These really would make a cute book. I'd buy it, that is assuming I had the cash.

Wow. It must be hard trying to think of so many "B" things that go together (and other letters for that matter!). I commend you on your ability to fabricate such phrases and the awesome illustrations that go with it.

Actually, quite the opposite--there are so many cool "B" things that I had a hard time choosing! Badgers and bongos and blackbucks being belligerent, to say nothing of bats and bears...well, you get the idea.

Man, I've learned two new words today! Β«BinturongΒ» and Β«bellicoseΒ». I would have learned Β«popcornΒ» too except I did that yesterday by putting a bag of the stuff in the micro and nearly burning the house down. Ok so maybe I knew Β«popcornΒ» already even before that, but now at least it has been charred solid into my mind with sizzling clarity around the embers.
If by any chance you should keep up this non-series of alphabetical letters in an educational setting, and reach the end of the line which I think β based on what I know about you from what I've seen and read in your other DA posts β probably won't feature a zebra, I can offer you three more letters that we habitually wave around here in Norway: the Γ, the Γ and the Γ
. Whaddaya say?
