Description
I had a hard time waking up this morning. (It's an old gag, Garfield's done it often enough, but some sentiments are universal....)Mixed media, 9 x 12 on hotpress arches. The dragon from "Inchwyrm" just kinda appealled to me, and I felt the need to revisit that style (if not the absurd body styling.) This is totaly my boyfriend in dragon form sometimes...even for work I have to shove him out of bed...then he's racing around mad at me because he couldnt get his but up and why didn't I wake him up...lol

Wonderful piece - I really do love the amount of character and personality you manage to work into your art. Each of your creatures are so lovingly created, and have the most endearing of expressions! Of course, your fabulous skills as a painter compliment that beautifully. You really are a master of your craft, that's for sure. Your works certainly show that you have a brilliant sense of humor, too. (It's always a joy to see an artist unafraid to have a giggle into the deal!)
I'm rambling a bit, sorry, but what I really have to say regarding this piece specifically is that the look on it's face is truly masterful - I don't think I've ever seen the famous (and oh-so-familliar) 'coffee zombie' look portrayed so well before. Simply Brilliant!
...And now, I have the strangest of urges to go and make some strong coffee. Thankyou for that. Hehe.

Yes, I too, am not a morning person. I feel the little dragon critter's pain. I love his design, his markings and the back two talons just somehow make him cuter.

mornings have been hell for me. i wake up sick, sick to the bone. plus i had been up all night tossing and turning because I could hardly breathe because I'm allergic to some unknown... thing in the air at my house. Theoretically, it's cat dander. But there's no way I'm getting rid of the cats. But yeah, when I sum it all up... I wake up cold, coughing, with an aching back (ever have your back ache from coughing so much?), nearly passing out after scaling a set of stairs (coz when you can't breathe, going upstairs is like a death wish).
oh man... i hate mornings.
