Description
Alphonse the fish had always been weird.Oolong tea is somewhere between a green and black tea, with a floral aftertaste, and will be one of the teas initially available from Red Wombat Tea Co (and in answer to the question, they'll be in tins, and available on-line.)
Digital, and way too much fun. (It was nearly "Angry Oyster Oolong" but while the alliteration was nice, I had a hard time getting the oyster to look suitably enraged.) Prints are available for $10 and $20, plus shipping--send a note or visit [link] for details.

"I had a hard time getting the oyster to look suitably enraged." LMAO THAT IS SO FUNNY.
Congratulations on the tea company. Gonna have any spice tea, like orange ginger? Are the labels going to be paper stuck to the tins or printed directly on the tins?
Bet you're having all kinds of fun with this.

This fish doesn't look enraged, either. It looks weirded out, fot sure, and odd, yes, indeed, but not enraged.
Still, it's fun as heck!

Seriously, though; I'm going to have to put a shelf up to display all my Red Wombat tins, cuz they're too awesome to keep in the cupboard.

My friend Mike yesterday was just mentioning this tea your talking about! I love this whole thing you did though with the "The hook is near!" Its funny actually.. We were in the mall yesterday (My husband, his sister, myself and our friend Chris) And Chris got approached by this lady that grabbed his arm and said "Jesus loves you" and she walked off.. we were like "Umm, Yeah, thats what you get for wearing all black!!!" lol

If I was one of those people who didn't get it, I'd be afraid the tea would taste of fish...

So I know black tea has caffeine in it but does Oolong have caffeine?

tytoalba In reply to tucsonhorse [2008-04-08 18:53:09 +0000 UTC]
Yes, but not as much as black tea.
The more a tea is fermented, the more caffeine it has - black teas are fully fermented, and have ~20% the amount a cup of coffee has. Oolongs are 60-70% fermented (depending on whether they're Chinese or Taiwanese - Taiwanese are fermented more and thus have a richer liquor and heavier body), and contain ~10-15% the caffeine in coffee

Oh dear, somehow I see my kitchen being overrun by prints of these tea labels.
I love the expression on the fish and the patterning on his tail. I want to touch him--though I'm sure that would just make him go even nuttier.
