It is altogether rare to see two men depicted in art sharing a moment of intimacy, captured in this state of suspense.
I have been with my partner for some 19 years now, and it is wonderful to see our kind of love depicted so exquisitely.

I think an image like this could be made exponentially better through usage of scenery. Without a setting all we have are two male figures, fairly ambiguous. Not much is said through usage of costume or gesture, outside of implied intimacy. If we're not getting the story from the subjects, we should be getting it from the space in which they inhabit.

Simple, yet elegant. The lighting and skin tones are great, and the expression is candid and real. You captured a great moment and isolated it, which I think was a good idea. Very good work.

Its interesting to think of (title). You are saying you are shameless but just by having to say that projects that (some of) society "thinks" there should be shame in being gay. Really a great statement.
I think the strongest part of this photograph for me is the negative/positive space created by the contrast in lighting. I like the photograph because when looked at closely, I can see your eyes locked on each other.

You did an amazing job on this photo. The gradients came out really well and you kept your focus a little center so it wasn't distracting but catches attention because the contrast fromthe backdrop is so big. Great job as well on catching the emotions so well in that moment. Can I suggest maybe trying the same pose near something like a waste high old fashion stone wall or maybe someplace discrete but intimate? It's a great photo and keep up the great work.

Good suggestion...and actually, this was photographed in a ravine (like this picture [link] ) but it didn't translate at all in this photograph, so I darkened the exposure in post and went with the "ambiguous" black.

A sincerely beautiful shot; I agree with one of the comments above that the real story is found in the facial expression and eye contact that is being made...it is honest, sweet, and seductive all in one glance.

you know I love your photography and this is another cool image. From an aesthetic point of view (very subjective!) I'd love to shift them a little bit closer to centre OR preferably just a little bit to the left, the composition seems a little bit unbalanced maybe. Also, for me the story is in the eye line between the two, you may even have another powerful image cropping much closer, even with just the faces and shoulders?
From a psychological perspective, remember words have power and I wouldn't associate the word shame(less) with an image of this quality. This is a very positive story and I'd look for an entirely positive word - brave? sure? - instead, or let it speak for itself.

Thanks for the thourough and thoughtful critique. I tried centering the image or putting it a bit to the left, but then it felt unbalanced to me because I'm a bit bigger than him. I should maybe try cropping just little by little and see if I get something better though.
That's interesting about the title. But although our society has come a long way in the past few decades, homosexuality is still sometimes slightly taboo. Hence, the title. THough I agree it could be something more positive.

its always subjective so if you find the balance right as it, then its your artwork in its completed state. I have rather strange taste when it comes to angles and forming wedges in the composition!
Yes, there are many who would like to keep homosexuality as a taboo, but we have to be the stronger ones and refuse to play into that mentality in any way! Enjoy your beautiful friend and realize that the world is privileged that you choose to share any aspect of your privacy with them (hopefully not in a Jeff Koons "made in heaven" way though)
