Gorgeous! Love the colors, they're so beautiful together here! Love the transition between the light and the dark colors and the details, everything's stunning!

"WORM SIGN!!!" God I loved Westwood's adaptation game sooo much -or at least, watching my uncle play it when I was too young to handle the controls!- it still brings familiar shivers down my spine every time I hear the unit's voices. Man, is Frank Herbert is a genius or what.

The landscape composition is amaxing, particularly the colouration. youve managed to effectively give a feel of grittiness and sand, especially the sky. It paves a feeling thats out of thi s world. Excellent piece!

Well it was a book series first, by F. Herbert. Then there was a movie made by David Lynch which got the craziest mixed reviews. Then Sci-Fi channel produced two miniseries, Dune and the children of dune. Both much more in depth than the movie but equally great in my opinion. If you happen to dive into this series I would suggest reading the books first because the movies/series leave out all kinds of important details. Thus the mixed reviews on Lynch's flic.

Yea Lynch's film really pissed off the right wing fans. But if you read the book you will note there isnt many details into the surroundings. So lynch had to make up the world you see before you in his movie. The book is all about mental and phycological reactions to a time of war. He based most of his characters and issues around the midle east tension that we all know to well. Spice under the sand ( oil ) Freman locals who live in the dessert ( local Arabs) and the figt between the new ( western worlds ) and the old traditions.

Holy freakin crap!!!!! I never thought of it like that
But in the miniseries.......Dune and Children of Dune
The Fremen won.....with the help of Muadi and his chilrdren....
don't know the right spellings
What about the worms......what do they symbolize.....
That's kinda deep if you try to imagine how the movie, and the miniseries, and the war is goin on right now....

well the symbolize nature and the connection we have to it. If you get to the books the forth novel is all about Leto ( Paul's kid ) becoming a god and living for 3500 years. He transforms Dune into a normal planet, trees rivers, and cities. But as a result of making nature conform to our needs it kills all the worms but him. And without the worms there is no spice. No spice is bad for everyone. And in the end the Freman do win just as the Arabs and other middle eastern cultures have thrived for thousands of years. Although a lot of tradition may have been lost the core values of the religious beliefs have survived. Its a nature verses industry, simple as that.
Read the books there great and way more on point than I could ever be.

I love how the landscape fades into the stars. It feels as if there's a story behind this.

Well this isnt the one I was talking about. I did a movie poster-esc doodle of all the Key Dune characters ( first generation ) but its so detailed Im still working on it. However I just finished another book in the series and I had to whip this one out. SO in theory there is one more to come ( time permitting ) I leave for Singapore in two weeks.
