Description
This new death battle pits two space balls.TIE Fighter- The primary space fighter of the Galactic Empire. Its main armament are two L-s1 laser cannons.

RB-79 Ball- A refitted civilian space pod of the Earth Federation to bolster their ranks in the One Year War. It armed with a 180mm Recoilless Cannon.

......Depends on the pilots involved.
Assuming both pilots are of equal skill though, I'd have to say the Tie Fighter. While the ball can rotate on a dime, the TIE has more maneuverability, and speed. Also, the Ball's Cannon is REALLY obvious, and it would be easy to tell if he was trying to lead you.

your forgetting something though the balls has those manipulators. they could use those to grab on to the tie.
another thing is and this is an oversight of the creator of this death battle there are a number of ball variations among which one with a towing cable which in 08th ms team was used to successfully tie up and destroy a high mobility zaku while neither pilot where new-type's though it does make a feat to be reckoned with.
one final point the balls where never really meant to do front line work unlike the tie's, along with the fact balls never carried beam weaponry.
in the end though I agree on the tie winning but only because of the energy weapons and that because of that this doesn't feel like a fair fight for the ball, because other wise ball hands down with Shiro Amada if you want the best non new type to ever be in a ball

Oh I'm well aware of Shiro Amada, the most badass Gundam pilot to not be a newtype.
I'm also aware of Baron Soontier Fel, one of the deadliest TIE Fighter pilots in Star Wars history. Said to be Darth Vaders equal as a pilot, without the force.
But, it's not a battle of the badass pilots, sadly. It's a battle of Average TIE vs Average Ball. And while I doubt the TIE can survive a shot from the Ball's canon, I doubt the ball can hit him either.

Shiro vs Fel would be a fun Death battle.
