This assignment was extremely difficult and stressful for Umbriel, he despises that he has to pick who to save and who he must sacrifice.. He knows in a real situation like this he would have to make a choice like this, and that if he doesn't more people could lose their lives.. But it still weighs down on him heavily that he made the conscious choice to leave a person behind.

He would choose his partner first, he would probably go for them first even if he didn't get lost along the way. He believes they are the closest and most meaningful person to him (or will be), and also because they are the furthest away in the maze so it would be wisest to try to go after them first.
And finally he would choose the tribe of demons over the lone human, because if he has to choose, he will choose to save as many lives as he can.

this was a lot of work but aaah i'm pretty happy with how it's turned out-- comics are quite fun to make Tv T has another one in progress weep
