New York Central No. 6015 has pulled out of the roundhouse at the Airline Yard in Toledo, Ohio and is shown here taking on a load of coal for it's next assignment. Locomotive No. 6015 is a S1B class 4-8-4 steam locomotive that was built in the mid 1940s by the American Locomotive Company as the 15th member of its class. While most railroads referred to the 4-8-4 arrangement as the 'Northern' type, the Central referred to the 4-8-4 arrangement as the 'Niagara' type after the Niagara river and falls. This scene is taking place in 1947, nine years later, this engine would make its final run on July 2, 1956 to Indianapolis with freight CC2 before being retired and scrapped along with the rest of its class.
