Once upon a time there was a small patch of land at the outskirts of Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. That small area was made of rock and moss and earth. It wasn't the most fertile ground for plants to grow, but due to the high elevation of the ground it received ample amounts of sunshine. The closeness of the sea, the moist and warm breaths of it, pine trees grew tall and lush and every spring a sea of bluebells covered the forest floor. Deers, rabbits and foxes lived there. The place looked like something out of the brush of Aleksi Gallen-Kallela. A rather beautiful place, some people might think.
The capital area grew, until one day it reached this spot of land. The rich and powerful men and women from the city council came to see it, scratched their fat bellies and said: we will drop a square kilometer (that is 0,386102 square miles) of concrete in here and call it Soukka. It will be cheap. Nothing else but the poor, unlucky and stupid will flourish here.
And now here we have it. Soukka. There is a discotheque.

Olipa kerran pieni maatilkku pääkaupunkiseurun rajamailla. Se oli tehty kivestä, sammaleesta ja mullasta. Se ei ollut hedelmällisin mahdollinen paikka kukille ja kasveille kukoistaa, mutta koska se oli melko korkealla merenpinnan yläpuolella se yletti nauttimaan runsaasti auringonpaistetta. Meren läheisyys, lämpö ja kosteus jota se hönkäili, sai männyt kasvamaan korkeina ja tuuheina ja joka kevät sinikellojen paksu matto peitti kaiken alleen. Peurat, jänikset ja ketut elivät siellä. Tämä pieni karkea maapläntti oli kuin Aleksi Gallen-Kallelan siveltimestä. Tavallaan kaunis, tuumiskelisi moni ihminen.
Pääkaupunkiseutu laajeni kunnes se saavutti nämä lakeudet. Kaupunginvaltuuston rikkaat ja mahtavat miehet ja naiset matkustivat kallioiden, mäntyjen, sinikellojen ja kettujen keskelle, rapsuttivat isoja vatsojaan ja sanoivat: pudotamme kuutiokilometrin sementtiä tänne ja nimeämme paikan Soukaksi! Sen jälkeen täällä ei kasva muut kuin köyhät, tyhmät ja epäonniset.
Ja tässä se nyt on: Soukka. Soukassa on disko.
