The way I achieved this vintage-ish shallow depth of field: it's actually a panorama consisting of several photographs. 50mm lens with a very shallow depth of field, shoot close to your subject. I'm sure this technique has an actual name, but I can't remember it.

Anyhow. Rather boring, but this is one of my favorite photographs. I really can't say why I haven't posted it in here.
