Just kidding, but clearly it didn't turn out as I saw it in my head, more like halfway there (another few dozen attempts and it'll come out just right
). Up to three hours in Photoshop made this thing come true, the good part about those tablet pictures is that they don't take eons like the Illustrator ones do

Because of the execution, I think this is technically your best. Β The red tinted colors blend together perfectly, and with so much red being painted in her hair, eyes and even sweater, you would think having a red background would be too much. Β But, nope! Β The background only further works with the image's favor.
The way you did her facial expression is also nice. Β She appears to have lots of character.

Only thing I see kinda off is those brighter parts of her face on the sides and top, I think those are too bright, not sure

This doesn't look bad at all. Her eyes are well done. Maybe the hair is a bit hard to do with this kind of technique but it only takes practice. I can give some tutorials if you're interested.
