Description
This is the full version (6000 × 6000 px) of the planetary nebula I used as the background in my recent piece “Solar Requiem” see fav.me/d6ulg7xI’m offering this as a stock image for anyone who wishes to use it, but please respect my hours of work that went into producing this image and be sure to credit me. If you do use this, please credit me, link back to this page, and if you can drop me a note, I’d love to see what you did!
This image was done entirely in Photoshop and painted using my set of custom PS brushes. Planetary nebula consist of expanding shells of ionized gas ejected from the surface of old red giant stars late in their lives. In this image the central star has already gone through its red giant stage and is now in the process of expelling its outer layers. What’s left behind is the immensely hot core of the original star (now a white dwarf) which emits intense UV radiation making the expanding gas glow brightly as a planetary emission nebula.
Conditions of use:

You CAN use this image in any deviations you want to make available as prints, provided they are only sold as deviant prints like most artists do here.

The individual features did start out as fractals, I converted them into PS brushes so I could make this image up in Photoshop. However, since I did this image I switched to using photographs of clouds for nebula...

I would like this for commercial use, but my deadline is near, so I am sure we won't discuss this before I finalize the piece I am working on for an Indie movie. Sure would have been nice though. Great Stock!

You’re very welcome; I hope you can make use of it! As for what you had mentioned, I have this image posted in the resources section of about ten space art groups so I figured it’s going to be found by those who would be looking for such things. A keyword search should find it as well. I'm still looking around for more. Thanks...
