it is a damsel fly, I am pretty sure. The main difference is the body, long and slender for the Damsel and the eyes. Eyes for dragonflies sort of touch, and damsel's are sort of...one on each side of their head.

anyway...this is beautiful. I love the iridescence in the wings and the color is stunning and vibrant. You did a great job capturing this. And it is stock!! Sweet.

Sorry for spoiling this but that "dragonfly" is actually a damselfly.

You can tell the difference between the two when they land. Dragonflys have their wings spread out wards. damselflys have their wings upwards like in your photo.
