The Swift Shadow is a very old fighter used in the Qn’akyit fleet for almost ten thousands years. The ship has long since lost its advantages as an interceptor. The small hull will not house the new power systems, so it can only be equipped with outdated weapons. Therefore, it is not effective enough to combat newer ships.
Many more Swift Shadow-class fighters are now in private hands. They are very popular with mercenary guilds, merchant corporations or other institutions where an armed ship will be useful, of course among pirates and various criminal organizations also. Only the latest versions remain in the fleet. One is a modification where some of power from the engines is diverted to powered the armament. This has enabled to replace the standard weaponry with two pulse lasers. This version due to low speed is used as a typical escort fighter.
