Official Description: An unmistakable sight that will forever sear itself into memory, the predatory kaiju called Uthegar is a lithe and serpentine creature, bearing many anatomical similarities to the heraldic dragon. It's beaked head, sharp eyes and serpentine form are all clad in red ascalite plating, nigh impervious to physical and energy-based assaults, with the rest of it's serpentine torso extending out in a blanket of thick golden quills that in spite of their beauty are capable of great bodily harm. It's limbs are the true oddities that betray it's unnatural origins, however. The bottom pair, scarcely muscular enough to manage more than an awkward shamble on the ground, are built less like legs and more like a combination of a piston and an anchor, assisting in takeoff and capable of gripping onto foes or terrain alike, depending on need. The other pair limbs, and Uthegar's most recognizable trait, resemble earth life so little that many wondered if the creature was originally extraterrestrial. Mounted atop rudimentary arms and shoulders are several armor plated tentacle-like appendages, segmented and lined from stem to stern with vents of varying size, each constantly emitting both light and heat. These appendages come together at the wrist in a sort of mockery of fingers, and while they can grasp, that is not their true purpose. These arms are functionally no different from rocket propulsion systems, grafted onto an organic body and wielded to deadly, near apocalyptic results.
Defense Protocols: Fortunately, Uthegar is not inherently hostile to humankind. On a typical day, it barely pays us any mind as it continues it's low orbit hunting expedition around the world, seeking any other kaiju to vanquish. But, as it is among the few kaiju capable of true flight, that makes it a potential danger to more than just coastal regions. On top of this, it's potential for collateral damage is, as with all Tyrants, second to none, and any encounter with the creature is sure to end with enormous property damage to the immediate vicinity. Due to it's rapid, explosive style of travel and extremely durable body armor, there's little that can truly be done to combat it or steer it away from population centers. As such, the kaiju is under 24 hour surveillance via global satellites, and it's projected travel route is always available to the public, and publicly shared to any settled area that might experience a flyby. Should the area be of tactical importance, pestering it with aircraft drones and cryogenic weapons has shown limited success, though most consider this wasteful and prefer using tactics to bait it into fly higher into the upper atmosphere where damage is greatly reduced. Should another kaiju emerge in it's vicinity, evacuation orders are mandatory, as the enormous death tolls in Santa Fe and Havana can attest.
Noteworthy Abilities:
-Organic Rockets: Considered by many to be one of the most iconic and most frightening abilities any kaiju on earth possesses, Uthegar's upper pair of limbs are functionally similar to our own rocket propulsion systems, and through it's terrifyingly intense metabolic rate, it can fly several times faster than sound, rivaling if not exceeding modern spacecraft in maximum velocity. As such, a pass by this creature can cause cataclysmic levels of damage to the surrounding area, knocking over smaller buildings and causing some skyscrapers to topple just from the atmospheric displacement and sonic booms alone. Each of the eight 'nozzles' can expand and contract, focusing the intensity of the blast into either a laser like lance of heat and force, or a wide spread of powerful flames that few things can stand up to, even Ascalite has shown signs of deterioration under direct contact. All in all, much akin to Ganuuk's Railgun and Stormback's Photon Beam, this is a doomsday weapon with as many potential uses as there are miles it travels per hour.
-Ascalite Alloy Armor: As with the other Four Tyrants, Uthegar's body is coated in organically grown Ascalite plating, and like each of it's kin, the plating is uniquely suited for their genetically engineered weaponry. While Ganuuk and Stormback's are both magnetized and built to withstand intense pressure and cold, Uthegar's is an alloy meant for withstanding immense physical punishment and especially built for containing the colossal amount of heat the avian bioweapon naturally produces.
Behavioral Observations: Observations of Uthegar are rarely tranquil affairs, our satellites sometimes struggle to keep up with it, and it stops moving so rarely that there's been little to no time to observe it up close and personal. The few occasions such chances have come are usually quite unfortunate, as this usually means it is locked in combat or recovering from wounds after said combat was finished, usually in the center of a smoldering crater. This high-speed, high risk lifestyle affords little in the way of direct observation, but reading between the lines and comparing it to the other Tyrant kaiju, there are some pearls of wisdom to be found. Uthegar is constantly looking for a fight, never sleeping and never slowing down until it has no other choice. Combine this with it's rather high risk, high reward approach to combat, flying low and in close to inflict supersonic, high heat strikes that backfire just as often as they work, shows a lack of self-preservation well beyond reckless. It's trackers have compared it to an adrenaline addicted stuntman, living for the thrill and exhiliration of its next mark, no matter what injuries will befall it, and it would be many, many years and many more defeats later before it would begin to mellow out.
EDITORIAL: So, let's go over the state of the world at large, shall we? Just for a moment. A couple of years had passed since Umbara and Ganuuk's titanic squabble that ended with Greater Chicago a permafrost covered pile of mangled shrapnel, and the Grove, the genetic murder forest that birthed more than a dozen new kaiju, had largely been contained through the efforts of the majority of the United States' military budget. Several of said kaiju had broken free, however, and the US armed forces were left with the cruel choice of not being able to spare enough firepower to focus on both fronts at once. So a sizable chunk of the lands east of the Mississippi river became a proving ground for growing monsters, each ripping and tearing at each other and anything else within reach until they had nothing left to do but move on. The strongest and strangest of these, Umbardos , seemed to be guided by a more organized purpose, stalking and consuming whatever kaiju it could before it was pulverized by Ganuuk and forced to lick it's wounds in the shadows. Sounds like a rough time, yeah? It was worse to live through it, I assure you. And let's not forget, Ganuuk had absolutely destroyed any and all fight Russia and Canada had before we stopped it the first time, which was made moot by it being active once more. Global morale was at an all-time low. We weren't out of the game, but the two strongest players had been severely nerfed, so many wondered if there was even a ghost of a chance of life going back to what it was. Short answer, there wasn't.
The world had shifted beyond any hope of return from a geopolitical standpoint. We returned to a sort of almost medieval mindset for a time, world leaders behaving as though their borders were under siege from a far superior foe. World travel became treacherous, economies withered away and many countries more reliant on trade to bear their standard of living took an unfair brunt of civil strife and in some cases open rebellion. But we had something of a line in the sand, even if it was being drawn as they went along. The United Nations, once little more than a diplomatic gesture, was rapidly becoming something far greater in the wake of the new power vacuum. Elite leaders, scientists and soldiers came together on a united front, forming an international coalition able to confront the threats wherever they emerged, should they emerge again. After all, even though most kaiju were confined to North America, three of the recorded ones had come from the ocean, one of which was fleeing from another. This meant that, all likelihood, there were more lying in wait out there, and they could emerge anywhere at anytime. UNDER's goal was to be there at ground zero as fast as possible, and eventually discover a means of not just driving the creatures away, but also removing them from the game board entirely. And their first big challenge came much sooner than anyone hoped.
A group of archaeologists in Wales had discovered an ancient fortification, far older and further away from any place of significance historical writings had covered. And in true pulp fashion, their digging revealed a vast hollow beneath the earth, and within it were two enormous prone figures, one red, one white, locked in stasis within it. I'll let you put two and two together for how they reacted. UNDER was contacted after they called the find in, and the prospect of being able to study not one, but two dead kaiju was too great to pass up. But upon arrival, strike team T1-CK (Ticks, they call themselves), under the command of former Bosnian Cybersoldier Faris Mirsad, found that the site had been abandoned. By way of deadly force. The only two people at the sight were two figures clad in pearlescent armor and wielding downright medieval looking weapons, who fully confessed to their actions and then proceeded to wipe out half of the UNDER team, armor deflecting cutting edge ballistics and blades cutting bullets out of the air. This technically wasn't our first real encounter with opposing ideals and shadowy societies, but it was the first one done face to face, and the Order of Saint George would go on to be a frequent thorn in the sides of UNDER for many years after this. But they're not what this story is really about, so let's skip to the good stuff, shall we?
As the fight continued, the UK decided to be uncharacteristic and part it's steady blanket of rainfall, bright sunlight shining down into the dig turned tomb. And unfortunately for all involved, this was exactly the kickstart one of the 'dead' kaiju needed. In a flash of fire that likely would have terrified any who saw it into a crisis of faith, Uthegar made itself known to the world, bursting into the sky in an explosion of force and fire that was heard all the way in London. And it wasted no time immolating the surrounding area, turning rolling green hills and mountains into ashen wastelands. Now, I know this might seem strange, Faris Mirsad is almost a household name now, he's a posterboy for synthetic augmentation and seen as a hero of mankind. How did he survive not one, but two deadly assaults? How did anyone make it out of there alive, when you've all seen footage of what the living rocket Uthegar can do? Well, you see, our fine avian firebrand wasn't the only thing sleeping down there in the earth. And the other one had just as many, if not more, mysteries about it...
----------------------------
Hello all! Hope you're all enjoying this season as best you can! I certainly am, thanks to some rather wonderful gifts obtained from my last birthday at the end of April. I've been blessed by wonderful friends and family who upgraded my rig on every front, gifting me a new tablet far beyond the ability of my last one, and a spanking new gaming laptop to go with it. And this, a new rendition of Uthegar, is the first fruit to be borne of this! And what hot and spicy fruit it is!
Uthegar's motives and abilities were always a little unexplored in previous drafts of this series, I never quite had a clear vision for him and it showed as I continued to delegate him to the sidelines. But in the last few months, a much more impactful role and backstory would emerge behind him, one I'm very excited to begin sharing. All I can say is the next entry or two will definitely be very interesting~
Anyway, hope you all enjoy this! More to come! Stay safe!

Really like the design of this kaiju! Love the hair and scales especially.
I like how you framed the story for this one too, being like an editorial. It gives this setting and storytelling a lot of style.
