Description
Heya everyone,Well after an exhausting 3 weeks or so of hard work, studying, and planning this project out, here is the result of my goal to complete a 70.00 commision for Tim's lightsaber. His character is named Tyr N'Darr and comes from the Knights of the Old Republic era. I studied and tried to match as closely as possible the layout and feel of the official Master Replica prints.
The lineart is complimented by the full color photoreal lightsaber in its final presentation. Along with estimated measurements, client notes/approvals, and other little touches like a faux foil KOTOR logo, this project is finally complete!
I'm glad to add another skill to my list of artistic abilites.
Enjoy!

Nah, did this in Illustrator, I used Maya on my 3D sabers (Gen, Crymson, Lon). That was why this project was so insanely difficult because I didn't have a 3d model to reference or work from, I had to think of how this thing would look like in three dimensions with all the different views and size calculations. The client wanted this to look like the framed lightsaber blueprints offered by Master Replicas at the time.

Thank you. It was insanely challenging to figure this out in three dimensions considering my client only gave me a 2D sketch to work with, colored in with colored pencils.

Hey I would like to know if I could use your blueprint to do it in real? Me and my brother want some lightsaber to use as a flashlight and I would like to know what is the scale of the blueprint.

I have no idea, it has figures on it that are fairly accurate measurements. Go ahead and have fun with it - just don't sell any of my work.

Thank you, my name is Nick Nugent. Love to see progress of your work as this was a complex design to figure out from the let's say more crude 2D "crayon" drawing I was given to work with.

Glad you like it,
I've done some 3D lightsaber pieces myself if you look in my gallery (Lon, Crymson, Gen). Blueprints wise, I don't know when I'll be making more since I've decided I'm moving on from Star Wars into my own concepts but we'll see.
