Right so continuing with the Justice: Unity universe (which I am now joined by Hernan20X ), here's Alan Scott, commander of the Outsiders.

Alan Scott's not the man he used to be, starting out decades ago as an enthusiastic member of the Green Lantern Corps and a superhero, the Corps recognised him as one of their most active, accomplished members. However gradually over time the ways of the world hardened Alan. The nail in the coffin was at Alan's wedding with long time boyfriend Sam, one of his oldest foes Vandal Savage interrupted the wedding and killed Sam, scarring Alan forever. In addition to this, he's become more hostile to his once best friend Jay Garrick, who in comparison to him hasn't aged anywhere near as much and has been active a lot longer than him, due to the speedforce keeping him relatively youthful. A once excellent team leader, whilst assembling his army Superman decided Alan was no longer in a fit state to be a part of the elite unit protecting Hawkgirl, also partly due to the fact it's common knowledge he bears a grudge as only she can kill Savage for good while Alan longs to. Instead he leads a unit within the Justice League, commonly known as the Outsiders, a group of misfits.
