Description Reptoids

One of the big three of the abduction, contactee and conspiracy scenes, Reptilian aliens have been reported hundreds of times. They live in secret underground bases, beneath the hollow Earth or inside a spaceship masquerading as the Moon. They abduct people for the usual horrifying experimentation and hybrid breeding programs, often but not always accompanied by the Greys. In addition they may be harvesting human blood and adrenochrome for their consumption. According to conspiracy nuts they have infiltrated the planet so completely that they have replaced royalty, presidents, tech giants and pop stars.

Like many reported aliens they appear to be powerful telepaths and they may also have the ability to shapeshift or otherwise take human form. The Reptoids follow a rigid caste structure based on physiology, with the most powerful being tall, pale and possessing wings.

Depending on who you ask the Reptoids originate from prehistoric Earth, Alpha Draconis, the rogue planet Nibiru or even another universe called Lokas.

Loveland Frog

In 1955 a traveling salesman witnessed three small frog-like beings walking beneath a poorly lit bridge. He went to investigate but one of the frog men lifted a metallic wand over its head and fired a spray of blue-white sparks at the man, prompting him to flee.

It wasn't until 1972 that any of the creatures would be seen again. Police officer Ray Shockey saw a hunched reptilian creature run across the road before climbing over a guard rail. Two weeks later another officer, Mark Matthews, had a similar encounter. He claims to have shot and recovered the creature which turned out to be a huge tailless iguana. Proponents of the Loveland Frog believe he changed his story after the fact to avoid ridicule. Sadly no proof exists either way.

Another encounter with humanoid frog beings occurred in the 70s, in rural France. A man on a motorcycle trip came across an entire swarm of the creatures, all of them wearing helmets!

Chupacabra

First sighted in 1995 in Puerto Rico, the Chupacabra is one of the best known modern cryptids.

It is said to be a reptilian or dog-like creature with several alien characteristics that tend to vary from sighting to sighting. However, this might be evidence of some shape-shifting ability as one witness claimed to see a bigfoot-like creature transform into the leaping, reptilian chupacabra before their eyes. They appear to be entirely vampiric by nature, draining the blood from livestock but leaving no wounds aside from a trio of puncture marks.

Where exactly the Chupacabra came from is strongly contested among cryptid theorists. It has been suggested to be a population of escaped alien pets, Grey and Reptilian alien hybrids, mutated dogs and even apes loaded with alien genes in an attempt to create supersoldiers.

Wetzel's Riverside Monster

In 1958 Charles Wetzel was driving alongside the Santa Ana River in California when his radio suddenly cut out. As he stopped to fix his radio, Wetzel was shocked when a six foot monster burst from the river to attack his car! He said it had a huge, round, "scarecrowish" head with a beak and florescent eyes. It had leafy scales, spindly arms and legs that came from its sides instead of under its body. As it tried to claw through his windshield he stomped on the gas and ran it over. The police checked his car and confirmed the presence of claw marks but found no evidence at the site.

The next night another motorist claimed to be attacked by something but was unable to describe his assailant. No other sightings have been reported.

Big Yellow

The Big Yellows have only been reported once and if you'll excuse the editorializing it's absolute horseshit. It's a lurid tale of macho-men fighting cryptids that belongs in the "true story" Men's Adventure rags of the 50s more than any serious discussion of the supernatural but I always enjoyed the story anyway so here they are.

US Marine David E Gower was on an ambush mission in eastern Vietnam when he and his team where attacked by eight foot tall dinosauroids that glowed bright yellow! Gower claims he shot one at nearly point blank range with a BAR (a .30-caliber machinegun) 19 times with armor piercing rounds and only caused it to stumble! After a narrow escape back to their patrol boat, they thought to make a stand with the boat's 20mm cannons but when the entire jungle began to glow with the neon light of the Big Yellows they understandably got the hell out of there.

The Obvious Suspects

The Serpent Men are hands down the most obvious Mythos source of Reptoid tales. They could easily fit any description given to a reptilian entity. Not only do they already have several extant sub-species of wildly different aspect, most of them are capable of glamouring themselves to appear as nearly anything and some have even made themselves full shapeshifters through arcane science. In addition they are well known for their infiltration of human governments and organizations, either working together towards the restoration of Valusia or as individuals seeking easy power and comfort.

The Deep Ones could cover any number of frog and lizard-man encounters. Perhaps a new, freshwater breed of Human-Hybrid is spreading inland and moving into sleepy little river and lakeside towns? Even the ubiquitous lake monsters like Champ and Ogopogo might be mutant or elder variants of the freshwater Deep Ones. On a more disturbing note they would also fit into the hybrid agenda. Perhaps the Deep Ones have modernized and dropped their attempts to create a cooperative human breeding population, instead capturing and drugging victims in order to steal genetic material for in-vitro hybrid breeding.

The Reptiloid's place in UFO lore makes Mi-go involvement a given. Even if it isn't the Mi-go's own reptilian allies they have been known to work with other Mythos forces and lend out technology for their own purposes. An encounter with a Mi-go gateship could lead to nearly anything on the other side.

Narrathoth the Forgotten

Narrathoth is one of the Million Favoured Ones, the loyal sorcerers of Nyarlathotep. He has been assigned to the various Cthulhu Cults of Earth and in their sevice he grants small wishes. It should come as a surprise to no one that these wishes bear a heavy cost and come as twisted as Narrathoth's alien mind can make them.

People have been going missing from the Star Brothers' compound alongside sightings of a bizarre reptilian entity. Contactee and lecturer Kyle Taylor is beside himself and has been telling anyone who'll listen that his "time is up and he has come to take it all back." When asked who "he" is he can only reply that he has forgotten. Taylor wished to see real aliens and Narrathoth showed him the Mi-go to fulfill it. In exchange Taylor and those closest to him would go with him after 6 years. At the time of his wish Taylor was destitute and alone and thought the wish was worth it. Now relatively wealthy off a successful lecture tour and sale of books and kitschy alien memorabilia, surrounded by people who hang off his every word, Taylor doesn't want to pay the half-remembered price.Β

Rhygntu

The Rhygntu are known by many names. The Voorlak. The Servitors of Haiogh-Yai. Worm-kings of the Black Stars. They came from dread T'halu, a black city of gigantic maze-like walls and spires of jet that orbits the black hole Vix'ni-Aldru. They deify the Black Stars of Destruction, the living black holes that wander the universe and their greatest act of worship is to feed them living worlds.

The Rhygntu came in peace, contacting american black sites responsible for monitoring known Mythos threats. They want to teach the Americans sothic-physics, Angle manipulation and Gate travel, all in service of Β making sure that the most important country on Earth can gain parity with all those existential threats. Best to keep it Above Top Secret, it wouldn't do to tip off the cultists and collaborators that are definitely infiltrating the government. And that transformative super-serum given to base security? No genetic controls in there at all!

S'gluoan

These semi-reptilian protrusions of Resonance hail from the same space-time as the Children of Lloigor and share their power over baryonic matter, thankfully at a vastly reduced scale. Even their transition to our universe requires a "Translation Device" instead of being born of their own mastery of matter. While they seem anxious to make telepathic contact in our dimension their motives for doing so are unknown. At least they do not seem to be as universally malicious as the Lloigor.

Lorna Renee Cerve, spiritual seeker and professional channeler, has seemingly committed suicide by slitting her writs. It's come at a great shock shock to her friends and acquaintances, none of whom believe she could have done it. The only evidence that anything untoward occurred was in the recording of her final channeling session. As she opened herself she spoke in a sibilant voice different than her usual take-over. It immediately accused her of being "not mu" and began to demand to "inhabit the Ciakar" before the session was cut off with a cacophonous noise. The police have dismissed it entirely as mere theatrics. The autopsy showed signs of recent nerve damage but that isn't exactly a lot to go off.

The Six Gun Gorgon Dynamo

Cutting corners to oblivion, in between the spaces that we know, she's primed up and all Geronimo!

A surreal entity rarely seen outside the Dreamlands, the Gorgon Dynamo is connected to worship of Yig and Shub-Niggurath as a bringer of justice. She may even be an atypical avatar of the Black Goat herself. She is mostly encountered wandering the borderworlds of Dream, helping lost Dreamers and warning them of the many perils of the spaces between.

Some UFOlogists suggest the Abduction phenomenon is a purely psychic one, adjusting itself to the observer and drawing on psychic energy released by simulated horror. Sounds a bit like it could be Dream phenomenon to me. Imagine the confusion of the UFO community if they started getting consistent and widespread reports of a Medusa in anachronistic cowboy gear breaking up the Grey's experimentation and rescuing the abductees! High Strangeness indeed.

Next time I'm thinking of doing Dogmen, although that one might just end up as "Oops all Ghouls"
