Description
I'm back once more to bring you another Top X Meme. The theme this time around revolves around 13 characters that you think need help from therapy.
Here are my 13 choices for characters that I think could use some serious therapy to help better themselves.
13. Steve Smith (American Dad)
Starting off with this list is the son of Stan and Francine Smith, Steve. He often has to endure continuous harassment from both his friends, family, and even the students at his school. What ultimately made me put him on the list was that one time he was shipped off to a very cruel knitting facility for breaking into a heavily surveyed supermarket. Just like Meg Griffin, he has to put up with the most insane shit and turmoil that his family will create.
12. Danny Vasquez (Bravest Warriors)
Danny Vasquez may be part of a group of great intergalactic heroes, but he has had to endure many painful experiences, ranging from being outright rejected by Plum, the continuous abuse he experiences physically and mentally, and to the unfortunate death and departure of his most trusted pet, Jelly Kid.
11. Haggis McHaggis (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
There was one episode where this Scotsman had to endure the harsh reality of being broke, ever since his show got cancelled by Hollywood in favour of the titular characters we all know and love. This drove Haggis batshit insane to the point where he would try to murder them.
10. PC Principal (South Park)
The embodiment of political correctness gone mad nowadays. PC Principal has a habit of harassing, intimidating, and abusing anyone that uses outdated and/or offensive terminology in society these days, in fear it would supress the discriminated groups he tries to fight for through social justice. He also had to endure the fact that was being used by one of his students, Leslie Meyers, as a pawn for a sinister corporate scheme to wipe out the lower classes of mankind.
9. Grim (The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy)
Grim is not only forced to be best friends with Billy and Mandy for all eternity, but he surely had a miserable childhood to add to all of that. He even enjoys the occasional sadism of seeing Billy and Mandy suffer for their misdeeds. He also had to endure a lot of physical and emotional abuse throughout the course of the series.
8. Cubone (Pokémon)
The fact that this Pokémon cries over it's deceased mom is really sad and disheartening. That is the most depressing thing that broke many gamers since childhood after discovering the horrific misdeeds done by the evil Team Rocket in Lavender Town. The poor thing must be beyond scarred for life after that awful experience.
7. Marlin (Finding Nemo)
This is a lone father who lost his wife and 99.9% of his unborn offspring to a vicious predator, got separated from his vulnerable and only child, Nemo, and constantly feared what will happen to him over the course of the movie. His relationship with Nemo wasn't exactly the best, but in the end, they pulled through and reconciled. However, Marlin's anxiety of Nemo experiencing danger at any given moment is what earned him a slot on this list.
6. Commander Peepers (Wander Over Yonder)
Commander Peepers is the second-in-command of Lord Hater's Watchdog army. Peepers has to continuously endure the abuse and childish fits that his aggressive and downright childish leader makes on a daily basis.
He also had to deal with the anxiety of trying to thwart the schemes of Lord Dominator, the universe's most lethal villain to date. Throughout Season 2, Peepers has been shown to be far more aggressive and anxious than he was back in Season 1.
5. Starlight Glimmer (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic)
Starlight Glimmer is a unicorn who had a troubled history that led to her making the most reckless decisions a pony could make. She had a delusional and false sense of equality, and had made Equestria suffer serious turmoil in every timeline she altered, all just so that she could get her revenge on Twilight Sparkle for thwarting her schemes.
She even had to endure a long time without any form of contacting her childhood friend, Sunburst, a unicorn she was very close with as a friend. Fortunately, they have reconciled after a long time apart. However, Starlight has been shown to be rather insecure and anxious over her past choices, occasionally snapping at her friends.
4. Squidward Tentacles (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Squidward has to constantly endure the shenanigans of his obnoxious next door neighbours, SpongeBob and Patrick, along with the uncalled for torture porns the post-movie seasons just love to spew out. He is also known to be constantly cynical and short-tempered, thus, earning him a rather high spot on the list.
3. Flowey the Flower (UnderTale)
Flowey's role in the game varies on what choices you make. Regardless of which choices you make, Flowey is a maniacal flower who enjoys the mad thrill of seeing the fallen child, Frisk, continuously suffering in his grasp. Flowey would have no qualms killing the child a million times, over and over again.
If that's not fucked up, then i don't know what is.
2. Courage the Cowardly Dog
Courage lives in the Middle of Nowhere, Kansas, with his two elderly owners, Muriel and Eustace Bagge. However, on a daily basis, Courage constantly dreads every villain and monster that he encounters with his only family.
Speaking of family, Courage was separated from his real parents as a vulnerable pup by a deranged veterinarian to achieve mad science. Ever since then, Courage has been continuously traumatized by that awful experience to the point where he cannot stand the thought of permanently losing Muriel and, to some extent, Eustace, to each villain and monster that they encounter.
And the one character that I think needs help the most...
1. Pacifica Northwest (Gravity Falls)
Pacifica Northwest is a child once known to be a condescending, mean-spirited, snobbish, and rude jerkass towards Mabel throughout Season 1.
However, Season 2 reveals that she is part of an abusive chain of families known to lie, cheat, and scam through life by keeping out the common folk from their fancy parties. Her parents have very high standards, and have her conditioned through a Pavlovian method if she were to question their motives or disobey direct orders.
And to add to this, she had to experience the trauma of losing her family through Weirdmageddon by witnessing her only father get every orifice of his face shuffled by Bill Cipher's pure sadism and losing her mom to Eye-Bats.
The implications of Pacifica's abuse have no doubt made her very insecure about herself. That is why she is the one character that I feel needs therapy the most.
All characters shown here respectfully belong to their rightful owners.

I was generally referring to the one in Lavender Town who lost it’s mom to Team Rocket.
In the Let’s GO games, it did become part of Trace’s team.

Poor Courage ended up going insane in one episode where his family was made into puppets. At least there are plenty of instances where his episodes ended on a satisfying note. He rescued two female lovers, befriended the Hunchback of Notre Dame, got revenge on the scientist who kidnapped his first family who also ended up beating him up, learned to accept his imperfections and make the best of them, and a few of his enemies became his friends. So I think that is a little therapeutic. Also, I love how Lucy from the Charlie Brown cartoons is in her therapy booth in that corner.

Speaking of family, Courage was separated from his real parents as a vulnerable pup by a deranged veterinarian to achieve mad science (which later failed thankfully). Ever since then, Courage has been continuously traumatized by that awful experience to the point where he cannot stand the thought of permanently losing Muriel and, to some extent, Eustace, to each villain and monster that they encounter. The dogs on the milk carton later got revenge on the scientist who kidnapped his first family who also ended up beating him up

I'd rip Pacifica's parents a new ASS for being dickhead parents towards her!
(Sorry for that)

Bill Cipher: "Oh wow, that's a great offer. How about instead I shuffle the functions of every hole in [Mr. Northwest's] face?"

Preston deserved it and Priscilla needs something just as bad, if not worse. Both of them losing their fortune is not good enough to me. They should be jailed for abusing Pacifica and have Pacifica taken away from them!

I agree on #1 and 11; though I never watched that show. I admit her folks are fucked up and deserve Hell along with her ancestors

Don't forget Helga from Hey Arnold, but Pacifica beat her to it.

Pacifica ultimately took the cake because of how vile her family and their ancestors are.
They deserve a lot worse than hell, honestly speaking. I think Hell's too good for them anyways.

I wanted my list to be as unique as possible.
I do agree that Ren is one of those characters that need help. This is one of those lists that revolve around one's personal opinions on the matter.

Oh, he needs help. But even a psychologist can't think of him as anything but insane. And he went all Rocky on him.
