Description
Well...its my new high elf helmet (its new cos I just finished it, not because I have another one XD)Again its actually a steel helmet but the steel is invisible so thats why its in leatherwork (I usually put steel under all of my leather because we play with Hitpoints in Denmark...and leather sucks when it comes down to hitpoints ><)
-Ontop of the steel helmet I gave it the wanted shape with foam and fiberglass. All thats visible is leather in various thicknesses
...now I've got about 1 month to make the rest of the armour... -.-

Hello, Master artist, I used your stunning art to illustrate some background text on our Ninth Age French Facebook page, giving you due credits of course ! (link : web.facebook.com/groups/134005β¦ )
The text in question is about the βProtection of Doracβ, a suit of armour for the Highborn Elf army, passed on through countless ages and still worn to this day by the Queen's champion.
The Ninth Age : Fantasy Battles is a community wargame project, 100% made by the work of dedicated volunteers. You can learn more about it on the website www.the-ninth-age.com
We are always on the lookout for new artists to help us craft our new universe, would be really glad to see you join our team ! Thanks again for your amazing work !

That's one beautiful helmet, I can only imagine how long it took to make it or how you did it. Cause I ain't got a clue. It would be awesome to be able to make a complete armour set of my own in the future.

Hmm...I see what you mean...with the front plate 'n'all Oo
-But...actually I didnt look at the Gondorians at all...I pretty much only looked at Warhammer high elfs...and maybe some greek armour
-I guess that the front plate is something that WH highelfs and LotR has in commen ^^

mind blowing work ! THe only thing that could make this more amazing would be a nice big gemstone in the star on the forehead.
Thanks you

thank you ^^
-Well I thought about the gem...but I decided for a "marble"stone kinda thing instead...I think a giant gem like that would look wierd to me Oo

DAMN!! That like super awsome!! 8D How long did you do that? You have super skills at this stuff! Maybe just a little more details to the painting and this would be perfect!

Thanks ^^
-I acually dont remember when I started it...but I've been at it for some months Oo
-Its painted this way to make it look a bit old and worn...cos I'm supposed to play an outcast elf general thingy...and they dont get the new armour
-The only thing I think about the painting is that I'd been better off using an airbrush...but...I havnt got one...so I just used a sponge instead

C-62-vampyyri In reply to Valimaa [2011-04-11 16:35:14 +0000 UTC]
Well then it sounds fit.
Poor elf general. o.o New shiny armors are >>
Airbrushes are the best thing (but not for your wallet). XD
Till you get one the sponge will do just fine.

Valimaa In reply to C-62-vampyyri [2011-04-11 16:41:17 +0000 UTC]
Nah...I'm ok with worn old armour...bright 'n' shiny armours makes you look like a cosplayer (no offence XD)
-I'm not too fond of airbrushes on leather either...looks painted Oo
...but...when I'm doing stupid colours like gold and white...I't would still be nice
π: 0 β©: 1
C-62-vampyyri In reply to Valimaa [2011-04-11 20:33:38 +0000 UTC]
No offence taken. Everyone's got their own opinion.
Actually you are quite right. The game/manga/anime characters
tend to have nice clean clothes despite all the things they go
through. << Unless they have worn clothes before the events.
I don't know anything about painting leather. XD I thought more
like painting metal or wood or other materials.

Valimaa In reply to C-62-vampyyri [2011-04-11 20:58:39 +0000 UTC]
hmm...I think I'm gonna make dirty, worn cosplay stuff!...that'll be cool
-Well...most often when painting leather I try to keep the leather look/feel (obviusly not on this one...I've could have made this one out of plastic and it wouldnt make a difference XD)...painting with air mostly kills that look I think Oo

C-62-vampyyri In reply to Valimaa [2011-04-11 21:11:32 +0000 UTC]
Imagine Dante from DMC or some FF characters in
dirty, broken clothes. XD Not so fancy anymore are they. <<
I wish there would be a game or something (aside from
Sims and MGS: Snake eater) where you really need to
take care of your characters needs. Well it'll have it's
own downsides and so but I would be really suprised.
How do you work on plastic?
π: 0 β©: 1
Valimaa In reply to C-62-vampyyri [2011-04-11 21:21:29 +0000 UTC]
That would be cool! If they acually looked like they just went through an entire game!...I'll do that!...just need to find a character that i like
-Just play PnP roleplay...then you have to do all that
-Meh...cut it, warm it, shape it, cast it...you can do all sorts of things with plastic ^^
π: 0 β©: 1
C-62-vampyyri In reply to Valimaa [2011-04-16 21:46:14 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. XD
What kind of game is PnP?
π: 0 β©: 1
Valimaa In reply to C-62-vampyyri [2011-04-17 08:16:32 +0000 UTC]
PnP = pen and paper ^^
-just your everyday run of the mill roleplay
