Description In order to improve with drawing, I've been copying Rubens lately. This is probably my personal favorite. It's a copy of Rubens' Portait d'Isabelle Brant. [link] There's not really likeness. I realized too late, that the cheeks are way too narrow, but I kind of like the drawing, and thought it better not to overwork it.

Charcoal on colored paper. Some contrast added in Photoshop.

Thanks a lot It's probably my favorite of the Rubens-based ones too, but you're the first one to comment on it.

Rubens was brilliant, don't know if he's my hero though. The reason I've copied him so much is that I discovered that he's done plenty of good, skechy-drawings that are good material for copying reasonably fast.
