Description
If you happen to have the soundtrack to the Escaflowne OAV series, Over the Sky. Play track 8: Machine Soldier, then 9: Shadow of a Doubt. That's where this drawing came from.A little different than my normal stuff. Just an attempt to get the creative juices flowing again. Took about 15mins for the original sketch, then another hour to go back and detail all the armor. I went through at least 4 completely different revisions of the chestplate. They went from medieval-like armor, to looking like a plugsuit from Evangelion. I'm still kinda tempted to just change it so it's just the swimsuit. Overall, her design is still kinda up in the air at this point. I'll more than likely ink this, but dunno if I'll find time/willpower to color it. Though, with all that armor and shiny parts, could be really fun to do.. ^.^

Hair style taken from my waitress during original sketch XD I didn't catch her name, but I'll be sure to print her a copy of the final drawing. lol

XD indeed I do. But almost every meal of the day, every day, I eat out. I also tend to eat at the same places. So when you do this for a number of years, the staff start to know you. So for me, going out to eat is also going out to say hi to some of my friends. After hours, some of us will all head down to the karaoke bar, or whatever.
It also happens to be my biggest exposure to new people. I don't even have to meet them. But between waitresses and customers, I have a never-ending supply of different hairstyles, outfits, jewlry, etc that I can use as reference in my drawings.
On this one in particular, I had almost the entire drawing done except the hair, which I was really stumped on. The other night, one of the new girls at my fav diner dropped her tray and made a huge mess, which got my attention. It just so happened she had a really cute hairstyle that I thought would work for this character. ^.^
